On 2/24/21 I contacted Howard Bentley about purchasing a 2021 GMC 2500hd AT4 stock number mg806 ($79495). I was greeted by Hannah on the phone and I was forwarded to Julia in sales. We discussed the vehicle and my trade. I was asked to take detailed photos, provide the VIN number, vehicle information and all of my contact information which I did. Later that day I was forwarded a email with my trade value and the pricing structure. I had some questions about the pricing that I discussed the next morning with Julia on 2/25/21. It appeared there were a lot of missing details in which how they arrived at the price. I asked for total transparency and to break the numbers down. She called and we spoke multiple times working out these details and discussed delivering the vehicle. I then tell her about the trade difference another dealer had given me. I was clear I wanted to compare apples to apples. The other dealer (Laura GMC) had given me a similar price on the new vehicle I wanted to purchase as It was the exact same model and color choice. She told me they would match the trade offer Laura made me of $43,500 to get the deal finalized. I said OK lets talk about these other discounts. There was a $1000 finance discount that I didn't understand. She explained I must finance and use their banks in order to receive that discount. She got upset with me and made some rude comments whenever I asked additional questions as to why. I then spoke to a sales manager that was rude from the beginning and could care less about the sale. His final words were "use our bank or pay $1000 more" he paused then hung up.
On 12/26/21 I was contacted by Hannah asking if she could help me in anyway to make this purchase. I explained in detail about what happened and she wanted to make it right. She explained the vehicle was still available to purchase and she was getting another salesperson & manager involved. They would call me within a few minutes to get this taken care of. I agreed for them to contact me to finalize the transaction and work out the smaller details. I didn't hear from anyone so I called her back around 30 minutes later. She answered and said well alot changed in 30 minutes and the vehicle is no longer available. We took a deposit on it and it's sold with zero remorse. If I wasn't 320 miles away I would personally visit this dealership and speak with the owners as their business practices are very shady.
