Buyer beward - llapp22
Psa: Buyer beware, My husband and I went to look at the possibility of getting a new car yesterday from Serpentini Chevrolet Medina formerly known as Pat O'Brien Medina. I am a nurse working in a local hospital and we were attracted to the "first responders discount" as advertised. Well we owned a new Chevy Equinox for about 14 hours, but after careful review of our contract last night, we realized that our sales guy added not only a hidden extended warranty but also a "three for one" extra charge. An extra $3,200 charge to our end bill. These items were presented to us as "no cost" because we had an extended wait time to see the finance department and because I am the daughter of a 20+ year GM employee.
Please note we were very happy with the GM Equinox and hope in the future to find another. However, it was not worth it to us to be lied to and tricked into paying an extra $3,200 when were mislead. We decided to return our new vehicle in an effort to prevent that salesman from earning commission off of us. It's sad that even during this time someone is trying to pull a fast one over on a first responder let alone any customer.

I've been dealing with Ganley Chevy since 2014 when I purchased a new Corvette. When the 2020 model was announced I immediately placed a tentative order. Mark Ulrich worked with me EXTENSIVELY over weeks as details were released to configure exactly what I wanted--very knowlegable and very helpful. After a year of labor, Covid, engineering and manufacturing delays with no car on the horizon Mark reversed the gladly reversed the deal. It would have been my fifth Corvette and at least the 52nd vehicle I ever purchased and Mark's no-pressure efforts coupled with an outstanding all-around dealership clearly demonstrate that there's no better car dealership than Ganley Chevy Aurora and Mark Ulrich. Did I mention that while other dealers were reportedly selling 2020 Corvettes above sticker, Mark and Ganley NEVER suggested any price other than the fair factory price--the experience was the same when I purchased my first-year 2014 Corvette. Call Mark--you can see by his other reviews that he's happy to help you with any purchase from an older used model to the newest that Chevrolet offers.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - diego.rojas
I am in the market for a new car and I have been searching since Memorial Day for a good deal. Long story short, after shopping around and exchanging phone calls and emails with different dealers, I visited Subaru Serra in Akron, OH. I was looking for a Legacy 2020, and started to work with Julie Remesik. At the moment they did not have any in stock, we settle on a price range, and I even left a $500 deposit that they asked for. Julie told me she was going to request the car with my specifications from another dealer and they were going to bring it sometime this week. Once the car arrived, I confirmed Julie that I was coming on Friday before 430 pm as she requested. She stressed that I had to arrive before 430 pm to have enough time to close the deal. In order for me to be there on time I had to leave work early and drive 3 hours to get there on time.
Today (June 5th, 2020), I arrived before 430 pm, and the first thing that Julie told me, was that “I will have to send you back home, since you did not fill out the credit application”, which infuriated me since I had not even seen the car in person or test drive it, and she even said that “if we could not make a deal, we could not make a deal”. With that attitude I immediately requested my deposit back. She brought the sales manager, and after a quick chat I walked out of the dealership with a deposit receipt and no car.
What annoyed me the most was that even though half of the negotiation was done and I was ready to purchase a new car, Julie was rude and unpolite. Since the beginning I told her I was not going to fill out an application without seeing and driving the car first (who buys a car without seeing it and test it first), but she kept pushing. With her comment about sending me back home, she disregarded the effort I made of leaving work early and driving 3 hours to arrive on time. They mentioned they had other customers, but I made an appointment with Julie to do all the paperwork, and I only saw a couple of customers and a lot of sale representatives available.
During these difficult times, from a consumer’s perspective, it’s a big commitment to buy a new car. I guess Serra Subaru in Akron must be doing really good to let go an almost already done deal. After investing a week working with Serra Subaru in Akron and with Julie, it is frustrating to be treated with such disrespected for my time and effort.
I really hope this was just a terrible mistake from the Serra Subaru at Akron personnel and not a prejudice due to the fact that I am Hispanic.
Bought a new truck this weekend from Serpentini Chevy in... - Kossuthj
Bought a new truck this weekend from Serpentini Chevy in Tallmadge. Do not buy a vehicle from this place unless you want to get taken advantage of. We have bought GM vehicles for 30+ years and have never had such a bad experience. I bought a truck and with all the offers/discounts, plus my GM employee pricing discount should have been around $38000. When I was done the price was over $48000. They informed me they were not going to honor my Employee pricing discount after avoiding the question all day because GM motors stopped honoring it. My brother bought a tuck from a different Chevy dealer in stow where we always buy and will continue to buy after this place a month prior and received it. They also snuck in a $5300 tire and wheel protection package that we never talked about, but when I brought it to their attention they lied and said we talked about it. They said they could take it off and I would receive a refund on the principal instead of redoing the loan amount for $5300 less. I would still be paying for it and they still receive the money for selling it. I left a voicemail for the gm and 2 days later never received a call back. This basically sums up how this place is being ran if you can’t even get a response from a manager. What a joke this place is and a bunch of thieves.

Poor communication and follow up from Derek and Joe at the dealership, who is the sales manager. Got the blame game on why they haven't followed up better and why I haven't received my car from OH to Tx shipping on a flatbed truck should be no more than 19 hours and it's been four days now. Terrible follow up and service. I would NOT buy a car from them!
Can't even buy the car.... - Shannon
The worst! To compete with online dealerships and maintain the slime factor, some dealerships, Laria included, have started tacking on fees not mentioned at the beginning of the sales process. I tried to buy a 2017 Jeep Compass at list price remotely (in NOLA) with the help of a close friend. Before Chuck, our sales rep, mentioned the fees he told my friend he would not talk with him anymore. That's because Chuck had promised the list price out the door. They thought they could con me into paying the fees if my friend wasn't present. List the sale price you degenerates! I have yet to have a manager call me back to discuss the issue. I a disappointed, but this is absolutely the reason I cringe when I need a new car.
We purchased an expensive Chevy automobile from VanDevere... - Thomas
We purchased an expensive Chevy automobile from VanDevere this past year. Although the automobile itself is very good (thank you Chevy), the level of customer care, customer communication, and after-sale vehicle service at VanDevere was deplorable, among the worst I have ever experienced (and this maybe the tenth Chevy I've purchased in my life). They did not do a good job of communicating throughout the sale process or when I had the vehicle in for after-sale service. They missed several obvious defects on the vehicle that they should have proactively caught and fixed. They missed several promise dates/deadlines, often without even telling us, which wasted a lot of our time. The financing process is creepy because they video record you while you sign the paperwork. They totally botched the license plate and registration process, and their excuse was that they didn't realize they were the ones who did the financing (duh). When I escalated these issues to their senior management, I got no response. Last month, I bought my next vehicle from a different dealer in the Akron area, and there was a WORLD of difference in the customer experience. The VanDevere "bunch" is off my list, permanently. They don't live up to their "bunch" of advertising at all. P.S. Their "free" car wash is a gimmick - hard to get in, when it's even open, and you're paying for it anyway in the cost of the vehicle. I got an account at the local carwash - easier, better, and cheaper in the long run.

This review is for the Medina location. I called on a used 2016 Acadia I found listed on the interweb. After two days of two different sales folk on the phone with no promised pictures sent of supposed hail damage, I finally got Marissa. She was anxious to sell, but not anxious to come off the price OVER BLUEBOOK. I was very clear that I am driving from over three hours away. I’m particular and don’t want any surprises when I show up. I was assured there is only 2 dents that are barely noticeable. I showed up and wanted to puke. The entire car was repainted. Dirt and runs everywhere in the paint. EVERYWHERE. Damaged trim from shoddy removal and re-install. Paint over bird crap. Air pockets in the bondo. I told Marissa and manager there is no way I would pay 5k under bluebook. Stevie Wonder could see it. Helen Keller could feel it. Marissa claimed she inspected it on a sunny day and it must not be as easy to see on those nice days. At least they said they were sorry. Thanks for the 7 hour tour, toll fees, my diesel expense and that cup of coffee. I still can’t believe they pulled this stunt. Enjoy your karma.
