I purchased a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze on April 25, 2020, from AutoNation Ford North Canton for cash. After thoroughly test driving the car and finalizing the sale, I drove it off the lot and back home 2 hours away. I stopped for my mail and turned the car off. A few minutes later, I turned the car back on and it acted like it didn't want to turn over. I turned it immediately off and then back on and it started. When I arrived home a few minutes later, I turned the engine off and on a few times with this same thing happening almost every other time I tried starting the car. The next morning, I texted the salesperson Aaron, to tell him what was happening. He said I would need to return to their service department two hours away to have the car looked at. I explained that I did not feel safe driving the car two hours on the interstate. He said I could take it to a local Chevy dealer but would have to pay a $200 deductible even though I literally drove it off their lot the day before and there is a 90 day/4,000 mile warranty. I sent the General Manager of this AutoNation an e-mail explaining the circumstances and he replied back that unfortunately, I didn't purchase any of the additional warranties they offered to sell me, and sometimes used cars are unpredictable and maybe the car just needed a fuel treatment. What? I just bought it the day prior. Shouldn't all of this been checked before someone bought the car? I took the car to a local Chevy dealer, paid the $125 diagnostic fee, which I shouldn't have had to pay since I just purchased the car, and they told me the timing chain was off, had recently been messed with and not fixed correctly, and someone tried painting over the markings. After many e-mails back and forth between myself, the General Manager at AutoNation Ford North Canton, and the Service Manager at my local Chevy dealer, Scott Heid at AutoNation, decided to pay for the timing to be repaired on the car they just sold me. A few days later, the Engine Overheat AC Shutting Off light on the dash came on and I had to call Roadside assistance to check it. Luckily, they said it was just a short and the car was okay to drive. Yesterday, when I turned the key in the ignition, the car, again, acted like it didn't want to start. I turned it off and back on, and the car started fine. I turned the engine off, and the car vibrated and acted like it didn't want to shut off. This morning when I started the car the check engine light came on. At this point, I don't even know what to think. I am taking the car to a garage and having it looked over so they can tell me everything that is wrong with it. I'm sure I will have to pay for whatever is wrong, even though the car is still within the 90 days/4,000 mile warranty. I am completely fed up with AutoNation Ford North Canton dealership, feel like they don't stand behind their used car warranty unless you purchase the additional warranties they try and sell you, avoid your phone calls and e-mails, are shady and dishonest, and sell used cars that should not be sold and are not road worthy.

Went in and dealt with salesman Jakob Pool, thought everything was going great until he tried to switch me to a lease then said finance told him they cant run my reports. But the problem started when i noticed he took a picture of my drivers license front and back on his personal cell phone. That is not acceptable. Im looking into if that's illegal with my attorney. After that he continued to ask me my SS number a 100 times. He said i must have a freeze on my credit bureau because they cant get into any of them, so i left and went home to make sure there was no freeze or locked accounts. He told me to text him and let him know they were all unlocked, i verified it with all 3 bureaus and my reports were not frozen. I texted him that evening. The next day he called and said nope, cant get into any of them, so i called each credit bureau and verified they were available. Called jakob and he said nope still cant run your credit.
Well something is fishy at this dealership, because i just realized today that they didnt try at all, because i get alerts from all 3 bureaus and also credit karma and also my credit cards alert me when someone tries to pull a report.
So this guy didnt try at all....so what the heck is going on here??? I have a big down payment, already approved through my credit union and they dont want to sell me a car. And Jakob wont even respond to my text or calls now. Bad business practices there!

worst ever buying experience these people are snakes, look out, ill never go there again! and Mr Mike here is ur review u begged me for during the whole buying experience about 2 years ago when I bought a clapped out 2015 mustang that seamed flawless you when i asked u if carfax was clean and no wrecks u looked me in my xxxx face and said its clean but u need ur review its all u could talk about but you guys bring young people in and (back end) them out the door check car faxes make sure (urself) they are clean these people will lie to u and smile in your face. I would give this negative star if possible, you guys shouldn't even be in business the way you treat people, and i could be coming for u for my next mustang but I will be shopping with Bob Gillingham ford, for this purchase. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS DEALERxxxx! On a plus, You live and you learn!
