Condescending - BoxerIke
One of the managers there contacted me out of the blue to correct a harmless matter-of-fact assumption I made in an email to the salesman I was working with. Not only did he correct me, but he corrected me as if I made the (again) very harmless afterthought about him. He also used that correction to vent about how Subaru is above other manufacturers because they never over-produce cars. In effect, he was telling me that Subaru made juuuusssstttt enough 2019's to last until the 2020's came out. Apparently, they are so miraculously skilled at this that as soon as the last 2019 is sold, the 2020's arrive. They would NEVER be overstocked. His tone was really condescending as he lectured me about Subaru. I'd never talked to, communicated, or met this insecure manager. When I pointed out his inappropriate tone, he responded that he was simply trying to make a point, or some childish nonsense like that. I've always said that explaining rudeness doesn't excuse it. Although I made it clear he wasn't to contact me again, he continued to email-harass me. I'm now shopping for a Honda. I might visit another dealership, but AutoNation's low score on this site is legit. I gave them two stars because the others I dealt with there (and they descended on me from every direction once they got my email address) weren't as pompous as this internet manager. They might be convenient, and if I was a masochist I might go back. But if they're rewarded for creating friction, they'll keep doing it.
