This honestly turned out to be the worst experience that I have ever had dealing with a dealerships service department. I plan on contacting the Better Business Bureau regarding this experience because the behavior of the service manager and the quality of work were disgusting. I took my car in (2012 Genesis) because I had been having an electrical issue. Periodically, when trying to start the vehicle, there would be no power. I mean completely dead. No lights, no chimes, nothing. But when you slam the door, all power magically would restore. Per the symptoms, it definitely seems like a loose connection somewhere. The last time that it happened, it sound like a spark or a power surge occurred and after slamming the door and restoring power, the sunroof, back up camera, and rear curtain no longer worked. I drove the car for about 5 weeks after that and know for a fact that those 3 items were the extent of the problem. So I took it in. After 12 days I called rather frustrated and was told that they still haven’t been able to duplicate the problem but let’s start the process of elimination on fixing the 3 items that were causing issues. I told them to hold off because I didn't want to fix those items without finding the problem that caused them to blow in the first place. I think this must have upset them. I was called the following day to pick up the car. When I got there I paid them $160 for the diagnostic and I went home. The following day I was out of town. Saturday morning I went out to the car for something in my trunk and noticed that the trunk no longer was working. I keep beverages in my trunk and couldn't tell you how many times in the last month I've used my trunk, but I do know that when I dropped it off it worked. So, I had to use the key to open the trunk. Once I opened the trunk I noticed that the tech who worked on the car didn't put the trunk back together at all. The panel that fits on the underside of the trunk was completely loose. All of the connectors were just lying there. Then I opened the hood and the cover to the engine was removed and just thrown in there. Only God knows what else they damaged. I called and of course they made excuses for the tech's pathetic work and said that they would put it back together which should have been done the first time. After I dropped off the car the service manager called me and basically called me a liar. He said that his tech, the same negligent person who somehow forgot to put my car back together, said that he had to use the key to open the trunk and that I dropped it off initially like that. That service manager should lose his job. You sir are the problem that prevents people having trust in mechanics. How dare you. I spoke with an attorney about that and was told that lying and being a snake are not criminal offenses, however Hyundai needs to relieve this man of his duties because he is cancer to your business. In conclusion, I took my car to Hyundai and got it back in worse shape than it was before dropping it off. Completely unacceptable! I would not recommend this treatment to anyone. If you need your car worked on please go elsewhere. Their techs are incompetent and their service manager and team are liars and crooks. Save your time, your money, and the health of your vehicle by taking your business to a different service department.
