Rude treatment, excess fees, like assembly fees for a - Mad Dog
Rude treatment, excess fees, like assembly fees for a used bike. Tried to purchase a used bike. Only to find a $1,249.00 fee for assembly and prep.(pretty sure used bikes come in assembled all ready). Plus $250.00 dock fee? We all know those are just a money grab.
I have been buying Harley's for 30 plus years, and NEVER, paid an assembly fee! that is just insane. The manager tried to convince me this was industry standard, and force me to pay it. Well it is not industry standard,,,so first time buyers be aware, to those of you looking to buy, especially first time buyers, I would look elswhere, customer service is not their strong suit either.
I spoke to a gentlman( I use that term loosley) who when I asked to speak to a finance manager, he said he was. When I asked the same person to speak to the store manager, guess what he was the store manager as well, then he informed me no matter who I spoke with the $1249.00 was not coming off the price. So i asked to speak with the owner, he said he would have get my number to the owner and have him call me back, and again informed me it did not matter who I talked to the $1249.00 would remain on the cost. At that point I infomed him i would not purchase the bike unless, the charge was taken off.....(you are going to love his response). He then said "If thats the case then there is no sense in me giving the owner your numer to call you back, Bye,, and he hung the phone up on me.
Just a little back ground, i am 5 hours from this dealership, so that is why the phone conversations. I had filled out the credit app on line and credit approved. Once i made a facebook post someone pointed me to this page, and their 1.5 star rating. If you look this dealer has more complaints than all the dealers in some states put together.
My local dealers and there are 4 within a close range have 2 complaints between the four of them and none are for price gouging.
I would definetly look elsewhere, for your harley experience, powder keg harley is not a good example.
My sympathy to those that have purchased and were forced to pay extra fees/markup above retail.
