When we entered Volvo Cars Lisle, it was the second of five dealers that we planned to visit as part of a whirlwind "test and decide" day. We never made it to the the dealers for the final three makes. five dealers that we planned to visit as part of a whirlwind "test and decide" day. We never made it to the the dealers for the final three makes. Cannot say enough about Sam Gonzales and the work he did. Sam met us as we entered the dealership. We identified that we were interested in the Ultra trims of the XC60-PHEV, XC40, and EX30. Sam promptly showed us all three, explaining the differences of each in detail before getting us in a test drive for the XC60-PHEV. Sam joined us for the test drive (unlike our previous Alfa Romeo salesperson for the Tonale PHEV) and highlighted key features, answered all of our questions, allowed us to get familiar with the vehicle, and engaged in easy going conversation. After our test drive of the XC60 Ultra PHEV, we intended to get pricing for each and move to the next dealer. Sam put us into decision-making mode by asking us to decide which model/trim we wanted before getting pricing for that model/trim. This led to additional test drives before we settled on the XC60 Ultra PHEV. Sam then handed us off to Andreas Koralles to work on making a deal for that XC60 Ultra PHEV. Andreas then walked through the finance options with great ease and a trusting demeanor, and worked with us to make a deal we felt good about. But, without Sam's efforts, we likely would have moved to look at other makes before later making a decision. His sales showed us we didn't need to go further than the XC60 Ultra PHEV we ultimately ended up purchasing. The only negative for the experience was the length of time it took to get the leasing application finalized, which we understand was due to a glitch on Volvo's side versus the dealer. More
