Had great purchase experience with Schomp. Attila Szabo Was great as a sales advisor. Prior to my purchase visit, he understood my requirement and kept me updated on the new inventory, offers Attila Szabo Was great as a sales advisor. Prior to my purchase visit, he understood my requirement and kept me updated on the new inventory, offers etc. when I finally decided to buy, Attila made the entire purchase experience out of the word and I was in and out within an hour with my new car. He explained various buying options, packages for me to decide and didn’t insist on me selecting any of those. However, my car had some manufacturing fault(no dealers fault) for which I had to tow it back to the dealership on the next day. Though Attila was off that day, he spoke to the GM and asked me to reach out to him when I reach there. When I asked for the GM at the dealership, I was not able to talk to him even though he was right in front of me. Seems like GM of Schomp Hyundai is out of reach for customers. However, other manager and a sympathetic sales advisor, Nick Becker took care of me, helped me with the loaner car. Nick is so amazing and caring. He stood by my side and helped me through out my visit and made me feel I mattered. My car is still at the service station awaiting the part. But service station staff were great too. Post diagnosis, they sent me a short video exposing what’s wrong and what are the next steps. So far my experience has been great and if anything changes until I pick up my car, I will come back and update. More

TLDR: Atilla will tell you flat out that you can’t do a cash buyout when your lease is up. You absolutely can and they just want you to finance with an outside bank to get their cut. Management seems aware and admits it’s for their benefit. Attila Szabo was our lease end consultant and told us that we were not allowed to do a cash buyout at the end of our lease. He insisted that this was Hyundai’s policy, and that because they owned the car they could dictate how you had to buy it. He also stated that you could not finance the buyout through Hyundai Motor Finance, and that it needed to be through a third party for a minimum of three months. When I pressed him about this, he told me that this is how they had done it the entire time he worked there and that his management team would not let me do it any other way. Based on this information I filled out an application, which made my credit score drop and Atilla got back to me that same day. He insisted I sign the paperwork right away, even though I was not in a rush and that made me uncomfortable. I called Hyundai Motor Finance directly to get more information and they provided me very different information than what Atilla told me. It turns out there is absolutely no reason I can’t do a cash buyout or finance again through Hyundai Motor Finance if that’s what I wanted to do. Both were things I was told were impossible. I let Atilla know what Hyundai said and he continued to say he had never heard of that being a possibility. I asked if he or his manager could schedule time to call Hyundai with me so we could figure it out together and wouldn’t you know it? A few minutes later, without any further verification, everything was magically fixed! I was allowed to move forward with a cashiers check only. He prepared the paperwork again( with a higher amount claiming they messed up on the tax number initially) and we signed that day, telling him I’d drop the checks a few days later. After refusing to shake Atilla’s hand while turning over the check, I got my receipt for the car and confirmed everything was done. I then told the manager about my experience over the past week, making sure to detail that Attila not only said I could not do a cash buyout, but that he claimed his manager was well aware of the situation and that they had spoken about it several times. I let him know that my credit had an inquiry that week from an application I had no need to fill out and had dropped because of it. I told him how frustrated I was that I had to press the issue before getting the appropriate resolution and how ridiculous it was to let an employee give out absolutely wrong and malicious information. This manager explained that there had been many changes to the lease end from Hyundai, and that perhaps Attila was confused because certain factors like the initial financing bank or the location you originally leased from changed your options at the end of your lease. I financed there, and started there. They told me that the points on my credit score would eventually go up, so a pull from the application was no big deal in their eyes. They then went on to explain that yes, obviously they prefer to finance the vehicles because a cash buyout on average loses the dealership anywhere from 800-1000$. At this point it occurred to me that the practice was well known on the sales floor, and that it was likely intentional. If someone had thrown my name into the mix and said that I was apart of something that I had no hand in I would be at least a little upset, and I noticed no such reaction from either manager. They asked me what sort of resolution I wanted from our conversation as it was simply continuing in circles and they had already promised they would address this concern with their team. They told me that the situation had already resolved itself and that there was nothing more to discuss because it didn’t matter. I can tell you I would never set foot in this place again. More
