My son purchased a 2018 Hyundai Tucson from John Jones in Corydon, Indiana on April 10, 2026. Within 2 to 2½ weeks, the engine completely failed. Not a small issue — a full engine failure with severe knocking. The repair estimate came back at $17,000, which is almost the entire value of the vehicle. The dealership has had the car since May 8th, and despite repeated attempts to get answers, they have: - Not provided a diagnostic report - Not explained what caused the premature engine failure - Not offered any help, support, or accountability - Not shown any concern for the fact that a young working person is now stuck with a massive loan and no transportation My son is now facing a $17,000 loan that will balloon to nearly $30,000 with interest — for a car that died before the first payment was even due. A dealership that sells a vehicle that fails in under three weeks should at minimum stand behind their product, communicate honestly, and provide documentation. Instead, we’ve gotten silence and avoidance. I’m posting this to warn others: Be extremely cautious when buying from John Jones in Corydon, Indiana. Make sure you get everything in writing, demand full diagnostics, and don’t assume a dealership will do the right thing when something goes wrong. No family should have to fight this hard just to get basic answers. --- More
