My salesperson Benjamin was great, he checked with me on a regular basis after I purchased the vehicle because the dealership will not release the vehicle to me since I purchased it online and not in person a regular basis after I purchased the vehicle because the dealership will not release the vehicle to me since I purchased it online and not in person and they have to make sure the bank funded the vehicle first, the dealership did an identity verification and credit check on both my wife and I, even told us to take selfie holding our drivers license and still took a week for them to ship the vehicle to me, if they’ve told me that’s the way they do because I would have pay for the vehicle differently. I have to give the dealership and Knight CDJR Service GM a 1 star. I would like to start out by saying that the sales portion of purchasing my 2023 Challenger was a great process. However, everything afterw a 1 star. I would like to start out by saying that the sales portion of purchasing my 2023 Challenger was a great process. However, everything afterwards fell apart. Let me explain: I purchased this vehicle in the mid 16k miles. Approximately 1.5-2 months later, I added about 1.5k miles to it. At about the 1 month mark of purchasing the vehicle (approximately 1k miles after), I noticed my front brakes started squealing. I reached out to Knight CDJR about a month after the purchase because my belief was that it was waaay too soon for a brake pad change. I understand I purchased a used vehicle, however, adding 1k miles to the car should not cause me to change the brake pads, no matter how hard I drove it. I would like to note that all the miles I added were from commuting miles ONLY. On another note, I did not purchase the extended warranty due to prior bad experiences with them. The service rep from Knight CDJR told me I would have to pay for the brake inspection, so I respectfully declined and reached out to the salesman who sold me the vehicle. He told me to bring the vehicle in for a free brake inspection. I was able to set up an appointment sometime later. When I got to Knight CDJR for my brake inspection, they told me I needed to replace the front/rear brake pads and resurface the front/rear rotors. After labor, the cost came to $7077.96. This was SHOCKING because I only added at most, 1.5k miles and owned the car for approximately 2 months. I spoke to the salesman (who sold me the vehicle) and the salesman spoke with their Service GM. I believe the Service GM's name is Miguel. Approaching my 4th hour there, Miguel finally came up to me and told me there was nothing they could do and told me to purchase their extended warranty. He explained to me that an inspection was done prior to the sale, and my front brake pads were at 4mm, which is their minimum requirement. At this point, I was enraged. I noticed the TV at their service department showed that if you are 2mm-4mm, it is considered severe wear and to service now. So they sold me a vehicle at "severe wear" / "service now" and attempted to either have me pay $7077.96 or purchase the extended warranty (can't recall the exact amount but it was about $3,500) for a vehicle that I JUST PURCHASED. I ended up walking out because this business practice should not be acceptable anywhere. I have pictures of everything: the dealership trying to charge me $7077.96 for brake pads and resurfacing of rotors, my presale inspection records of them selling me a vehicle with 4mm brake pads, and their service department TV saying 4mm is considered "severe wear" and that it must be serviced immediately. Disappointing. More
