Buying without being sold My wife and I visited Leith BMW last week to meet with Brendan Clive to test drive the M2 for which I was shopping--my wife, not so much. We saw anoth My wife and I visited Leith BMW last week to meet with Brendan Clive to test drive the M2 for which I was shopping--my wife, not so much. We saw another model, a beautiful blue hardtop convertible, and on impulse asked if we could test drive that one first. Brendan was more than accommodating, demonstrating his interest not in selling but in satisfying. During and after both test drives, we enjoyed great conversation about family, home, birthplace and a little business, genuinely enjoying Brendan's company. Every question we posed about the first BWW, and the M2 we ultimately opted for, was competently answered. Once back at the dealership, Brendan shuttled repeatedly between the manager, my wife, and I until we got the deal we wanted. When time came for financing, Brian Winter could not have treated us more courteously. Again, we got the rate we wanted and none of the upgrades we didn't. The entire experience was completely satisfying, where every member of the sales and finance team worked professionally but in a kind of laid-back, relaxed style where we purchased, but were never sold, a great car.
