I believe THEY SOLD US A LEMON! ! We purchased an approximately 36,000-mile Cadillac XT6 from Barker Motor Company that was represented as being in great condition. The vehicle st ! We purchased an approximately 36,000-mile Cadillac XT6 from Barker Motor Company that was represented as being in great condition. The vehicle still displayed a Cadillac Certified Pre-Owned sticker at the time of our test drive, and the Carfax report showed it had been certified by a Cadillac dealership shortly before being sold to BMC. Based on these representations, the dealership’s assurances, and the active bumper-to-bumper warranty, we reasonably relied on the condition of the vehicle when making our purchase. Prior to purchase, we identified several concerns. The trunk was opening by itself when we arrived to view the vehicle, and the navigation SD card was not functioning. We were told the trunk issue would be fixed and that a replacement navigation SD card would be ordered. During the test drive, we also heard a whistling/whining noise that did not seem normal. The salesman assured us it was just wind — it wasn’t. Additionally, it was not disclosed until we were ready to buy the car that one of the key fobs was damaged, and it was never disclosed that one key fob was aftermarket. The keys were also programmed incorrectly as #2 and #3 instead of #1 and #2. Replacing them with proper OEM keys would cost approximately $800. Had this information been disclosed earlier, it would have materially affected our purchase decision and the price we were willing to pay. After one month of owning the car we decided to bring the car to a Cadillac technician and this is what was revealed: * The whistling/whining noise was diagnosed as a torque tube requiring replacement * The radiator was found to be leaking * The transmission is currently under diagnosis due to jerking * The navigation system was found by a Cadillac technician to have a loose SD card socket * The key fobs required reprogramming While the staff at Barker Motor Company was polite and efficient, the condition of the vehicle does not align with how it was represented at the time of sale. Several concerns raised prior to purchase were dismissed or minimized, and the vehicle has required significant repairs shortly after. We are willing to update or remove our reviews if Barker Motor Company resolves this matter by adjusting the purchase price to reflect the vehicle’s actual condition and reimbursing us for the difference between a properly functioning vehicle and what was delivered. Given that these issues were raised prior to purchase, and that one of the keys was aftermarket and not disclosed, it is reasonable to expect that Barker Motor Company was aware of these conditions at the time of sale. Accordingly, we request that the purchase price be prorated to reflect the undisclosed key issue, the torque tube replacement, and the loose SD card socket. More
