Have purchased a new Honda every 4 or 5 years and currently own 2. Last purchased a 2025 CRV from Lia Honda Brewster in December 2024. the Honda Brand and Lia Honda Dealership in particular have been on a steep decline. All my vehicles have been garaged and properly maintained. Recent repairs include replacing the rack and pinion on 2012 Pilot w/ 60k, fuel injectors on 2017 CRV w/ 56k and countless problems with a 2022 Accord, including Honda roadside assistance unavailable to provide tow and left my son stranded. All these issues were documented defects and warranty issues. Most recently, I called Lia Honda to schedule complimentary maintenance on 2025 CRV with 6100 miles. I was told that complimentary service does not cover fluid changes with more than 15% life or beyond 12 months ownership because the dealership does not get reimbursed. I spent 40k on a new car and the dealership is quibbling over the terms of a free oil change. I spoke to Chris, the assistant service manager, who was supposed to get back to me and never returned my call. Overall, steep decline in quality and basic customer service.

Regarding the complimentary oil change, Honda does have specific guidelines that apply across all dealerships for when the first service can be completed. I finally received a response from Lia Honda Brewster. The service department contacted me this morning to inquire why we have not been back for service. Only after I explained the issues I was having and never receiving a response from the assistant service manager did Kira Bueti respond on-line. She explained that her hands were tied by the Honda corporate reimbursement policies and the dealership did not have the interest or discretion to correct the situation. She felt my review of the dealership was unfair. Well Kira, it was the dealership that did not respond or attempt to resolve the situation. Honda has since revised their policy and relaxed the mileage restrictions. I would think that a dealership that sold me 2 new cars in the last 3 years would not be quibbling over the terms of a complimentary oil change. It should be noted that Danbury Honda was more than happy to service my vehicle last week. I stand by my original review.

Thanks for taking the time to discuss my concerns. You made it quite clear in our conversation that there was nothing the dealership could do to extend or modify the terms of the complimentary oil change because the dealership would not be reimbursed. Apparently you are not concerned with new car sales or retaining me as a customer. I’m sure the sales manager appreciates you sending my business elsewhere. Also, I would gladly upload receipts for repairs at your dealership including a 12/26/24 repair totaling $823.10 to replace a front wheel bearing on a 2017 Honda CRV with 62017 miles invoice # 22767HB. Not something I would expect to be replacing that early. Especially, when only one side failed. Keep up the good work Kira, you are a brand ambassador!
