My experience at Gulliver Auto Group has been filled with avoidable frustrations and careless oversights, and before management posts the typical lazy “we’re sorry you had this experience” response, let me b avoidable frustrations and careless oversights, and before management posts the typical lazy “we’re sorry you had this experience” response, let me be clear: this review is based on documented facts, not feelings. I first worked with a salesman named Chris, who came across as robotic, disengaged, and uninterested. The sale actually fell through at first because he was unwilling to cover a forgotten $20 error on the purchase order — a petty and unprofessional move that left a bad impression. The only reason the deal happened at all was because I checked back later and saw the vehicle was still sitting unsold. When I finally drove it off the lot, I was handed the keys to a car with an empty gas tank — another careless oversight that shows the lack of basic customer service. Chris fit the stereotype of the worst kind of used car salesman, with nothing redeeming about the interaction. On the financing side, Marc was at least professional and efficient, which I appreciated, but that’s where the positives ended. The real disaster has been the registration process. Despite buying the car on September 8th, there’s still no record that my registration application has been filed. To make matters worse, Gulliver issued me metal plates without providing a registration receipt, temporary tag, or proof that those plates are legally tied to my VIN. This isn’t a small clerical delay — it is a serious compliance failure under Texas law. Because of this, I’m now left driving a car that technically puts me at risk of being ticketed, fined, or even impounded if I’m stopped by law enforcement. It’s not just my risk either — my lienholder’s interest in the vehicle may not even be properly recorded if the dealer never filed the paperwork. I’ve had to spend time contacting the Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office, the Texas DMV Enforcement Division, and even notifying my bank just to make sure my vehicle is legally registered. None of that should ever fall on a buyer, yet Gulliver made it my problem. Every day without registration has cost me time, stress, and money. A dealership’s most basic responsibility after a sale is to process the title and registration properly. Gulliver failed at this, then offered nothing in terms of accountability or resolution. Yes, the car itself has been fine so far, and Marc in financing did his job well — but those are the only highlights. Everything else about this process has been sloppy, unprofessional, and unnecessarily stressful. To future buyers: beware. If you do business here, don’t expect professionalism, don’t expect accountability, and don’t assume the registration will be handled properly. Double-check everything with the county tax office immediately after purchase, or you may end up in the same position I am now — chasing down state agencies to clean up a mess the dealership created.
