I wanted a rare car and have been looking for months.

When i saw a new one pop up at this location i asked if the price included everything and honda certification as it was 6 months used. I was told yes it is.
I drove 40 min and when i liked the car we talked finance. the first thing the sales manager does it pull up the price i saw, adding $3K in accessories and $1.5K for honda certification. I told them to remove some of the accessories.
They used typical car salesmen pressure tactics and i agreed to pay $2K more than my walk away amount. but at least we had a solid number.
When i am filling out the finance paperwork i notice it is $4K more than agreed. the finance officer said it was because they were "required" to charge for the 10 year extended warranty. after threatening to walk out they reduced it to $2.4K. then i started putting on my coat. finally the waived it.
i was supposed to get a $12.5K cash check back for my trade in. they charged me $155 because title was still in Honda's name. no where in my entire paperwork does it say they will charge for that. but they took it anyway.
they told me they would get me the best loan. they got me 5%... i am assuming because they get points. So i am refinancing, already approved for 2.75%. I am hoping if i refinance immediately, it will cancel their commission.

update (3.3.2022): The day i posted this i also emailed the owner of the situation. I have not heard back... again, Chung Kang was sales manager. he found every way to make the car appealing to get me in the door then added as many charges as possible. then had the finance officer state that it was "REQUIRED TO PURCHASE 10 YEAR WARRANTY". so my first question is you literally have a policy to require a 4k purchase on any used car?

They are not honest with their fees, they tack on extra fees without notifying their customers. 1 of these fees they call pulse for $599. The 2nd is LoJack for $499. The 3rd is Smart Driver for $1255. The 4th is ERT fee for $25. These fees come out to a total of $2,378 that they added onto the final cost of the vehicle, they did all this without letting me know and by the time I realized it, I had already paid. I tried to get a refund and they were arguing with me and refused to give me a full refund of the fees but only a partial refund. I have bought and traded 15 cars and been to many dealers. So I have other dealers to compare to this experience and I must say, they are not honest in how they conduct business. I would say to make sure you look at the purchase agreement line by line before signing anything, I made a mistake by trusting them to be honest.

My main issue is that the Pulse, LoJack, Smart Driver, and ERT fee were all added to my final cost without my knowledge. The total fees combined are $2,378. I worked with 3 people, Merissa, Chung, and Antar. All 3 employees failed to notify me that these extra fees were added onto the final cost. As I looked at the documents the next day after purchase, the documents stated they were optional and not mandatory. But yet none of the employees asked me if I wanted the extra services, they just added it on without my knowledge. When I came back into the dealership to ask for a refund on these services, they argued with me and treated me very disrespectfully and then stated that the only fee that can be reimbursed is the Smart Driver fee and the general manager stated the same. But I am still very unsatisfied with how I was treated and also how services were added to my final price without even asking for my consent. The only resolution I see that would make me feel better is having a refund of $2,378. As I paid the full asking price of the car with taxes and document fees and registration.
