My wife and I were in the market for a new vehicle for her. We had been researching Kia Tellurides as well as Hyundai Palisades over the summer, but due to some mechanical problems with her car, the hunt her. We had been researching Kia Tellurides as well as Hyundai Palisades over the summer, but due to some mechanical problems with her car, the hunt for a new vehicle became more urgent. Initially she really liked the Kia Telluride, which is an extremely nice vehicle with sort of a sexy vibe that makes it the hot selling vehicle that it is. The problem was trying to find the vehicle we wanted in terms of trim level, options, and colors. The other issue is the fact that due to their popularity, every dealer we contacted was selling these vehicles at significant premiums over MSRP. We talked to multiple dealers with offers of anywhere from $2500 to $4400 over sticker price which took a little of the sheen off the vehicle. We began researching the Hyundai Palisade in earnest as it is very similar to the Telluride. The more we learned about this car, the more we liked it. It offers essentially all the same features though there are some minor cosmetic differences. These cars are also very popular but seemed to have a little better availability. While it is very difficult to get a buy at significantly below MSRP, they can be had for a much more reasonable price. We live in rural South Alabama and had to travel to a Hyundai dealer. A good friend of mine recommended Allen Turner Hyundai Pensacola. We had actually had gone to look at Tellurides and Palisades in Montgomery and had a very nice demonstration of the Palisade at Capital Hyundai. When we actually got ready to buy however, I was in a time crunch and was unable to get in touch with the salesman who had demonstrated the car in Montgomery. I called Allen Turner Hyundai in Pensacola just to see what they had available. We had planned to buy the Limited version which is the upscale trim. My wife is pretty particular in terms of the interior and exterior colors she wanted. I was connected with a salesman by the name of Dean Sinibaldi, Sr. This call took place on a Saturday afternoon, and Dean and I hit it off immediately. He understood what I was looking for, and almost by providence, he said that they had a lagoon silver SEL Palisade with all the luxury option packages on it which had about 90% of the features of the Limited for about $5000 less. All it really lacked was the 360ﾟ camera, the quilted leather seats, and some additional chrome trim features. Otherwise, it had the 20" tires, all the really nice electronic safety features, a very nice leather interior, power sunroof, navigation, and all the comfort features. We had been unable to find either a Telluride or Palisade with a silver exterior/interior, and I was immediately interested in the car. Over the course of 24 hours, Dean made a very attractive offer on the car and also offered me a $500 First Responder Rebate as well The car also had the 3 person bench seat in the middle row which my wife really likes. We came to a deal Sunday, and I secured the vehicle with a $1000 deposit via credit card. Due to my work schedule and handling some hurricane damage clean up details we were not able to actually get down to Pensacola until Wednesday. Even then, we did not arrive at the dealership until about 4:30. Despite the late hour, Dean gave us the complete test drive and demonstration of the vehicle. Incidentally, the Allen Turner dealership in Pensacola is about as nice of a car dealership as I have ever seen. They had extensive selection of vehicles as well as a bunch of extremely nice and friendly employees. The whole buying process was very smooth and relatively painless Dean and finance man Josh Knafel had to work until about 8:30 or 9:00 p.m.. Despite the late hour, Dean gave us the complete check out in the car including the extensive set up of the electronic features of the car.. This car is so technologically advanced that this really was a big help. We never felt rushed or short changed despite the late hour. I need to mention that we received a more than generous trade in allowance on my wife's old Surburban. All in all, this was by far the most seamless auto purchase I have ever made. Both of these guys bent over backwards to make us happy. My wife was thrilled. I could not recommend this dealership or these sales employees more highly. If you're in the market, I think the Tellurides and Palisades are really great vehicles. Having said that, I think the Palisade really offers a lot more bang for the buck. Check it out, and you'll see what I mean. More
