Before signing, the salesperson told me the vehicle had only minor cosmetic damage and no engine or structural problems. The CARFAX provided matched that story — "minor damage," cosmetic only. Months later, while getting unrelated repairs done, an independent body shop discovered the truth: a front structural bracket that should have been welded was only bolted on — a real safety risk, since an impact could push the assembly inward. Clips were installed for molding that was never actually there. The mechanic, concerned enough about safety to point it out unprompted, said there could be more damage he wasn't equipped to find, since he's not an engine specialist. My daughter has been driving this car for the past two months without either of us knowing it had this kind of unresolved structural issue. As a parent, that's devastating to learn. When I brought this to the dealership, they told me to bring the car back in — but the car is unsafe to drive. I asked them to arrange a tow since I don't feel safe driving it, and they have ignored that request. I would not have purchased this vehicle had I known its real condition, and I'm extremely disappointed in how the dealership has responded to a genuine safety concern. More
