Getting it repaired at a reputable repair shop for half the price of their used estimate. Going through the Better Business Bureau Auto-line. Was not allowed to provide paperwork proving my maintenance. I have bought four cars from Coastal, no loyalty, zero care, 100% dishonest dealership.

We are very disappointed with the misrepresentation of the events surround our interaction. When the vehicle arrived with a check engine light and blowing white smoke, we performed initial tests to determine the cause. After identifying stored low oil pressure codes, customer approved further diagnostic work. We dismantled the top end of the engine to conduct a cylinder test. This revealed a lack of compression in one of the cylinders, for which we provided diagnostic documentation and photos to the Nissan tech support line. At this point, Nissan requested maintenance records to verify the service history of the vehicle.
Coastal Nissan has no record of performing engine oil/filter service since the vehicle was purchased in 2019. Customer was not able to produce maintenance records when requested by the Nissan tech line for approximately three weeks. Nissan then issued a denial of coverage due to lack of maintenance. Coastal Nissan has no authority to void a warranty. After three weeks, customer advised that the maintenance records had been located, Coastal Nissan suggested that customer contact Nissan to re-open the claim. Coastal stands by our estimates for a new and used replacement engines and would welcome the opportunity to review a competitive estimate to assess any discrepancies.

Coastal Nissan There is absolutely no misrepresentation of what happened and for you to say otherwise is insulting. I provided maintenance reports immediately to Nissan corporate when asked. Coastal had my car for a month and never asked for a single record. You then submitted paperwork to void my warranty on July 15th. You won’t find a single call or transcript from Coastal asking for my paperwork. That is an absolute lie from you. I also was the one calling and checking on the progress. I received zero calls or updates from Coastal unless I called.
I am extremely disappointed in your dealership and your response. In no way was I treated fairly by your dealership or Nissan. The car had consistent records of maintenance and oil changes. This includes an oil change 18 days before the engine light came on.
I was never given an opportunity by Coastal or Nissan to provide records. Nissan claims you voided the warranty, you claim Nissan voided the warranty. Repairs and oil changes do not have to be done exclusively at your dealership. Either way you have lost a longtime customer who was treated unethically by Nissan and the dealership. I purchased 4 cars from Coastal and in the end it didn’t matter.
You can also stop trying to justify how your dealership treated me as a longtime customer. Your estimate was an absolute slap in the face… $5,000-$7,000 more than reputable repairs shops. I had my car repaired for half of your estimate, which is the opposite of fair. Your estimate of $15,000 for a new engine was a ploy by the dealership to get me to buy a new car, and don’t tell me otherwise. I got it fixed at Kennedy’s in Weymouth, for half the price.
Every single negative review you have received blamed the customer in your response. Shame on your dealership. Take responsibility for once for treating your customers poorly. The customers to your dealership do not matter. What matters to Coastal is your money when you buy a car, and your money for repairs and maintenance.
I am expecting another dishonest response from your dealership. Your response was filled with lies. What else could someone who bought 4 cars from your dealership expect?
