Car was repaired to satisfaction. There were no issues with the service team. However the overall policy I call into question. I was told that is not the policy and the repairs must be made ONLY when the component fails. Sorry to say but when I spend $45K on a vehicle I expect a better approach than that. This analysis is in no way critical of the local service dept but rather the company itself. More

The repair itself was a repeat occurrence of an issue that occurred 4,000 miles prior which was a misfire in the cylinder which required 5 days to resolve- add that to the 7 days for the 1st occurrence a that occurred 4,000 miles prior which was a misfire in the cylinder which required 5 days to resolve- add that to the 7 days for the 1st occurrence and it starts to become an inconvenience to the customer. I contacted VW directly to request a proactive replacement of remaining cylinders that have not misfired. The process itself puts all the burden on ten customer to follow up on this. I feel this responsibility should revert to the dealer to get a permanent resolution to a repeat issue since in the end the service dept of the repairing dealer needs to be involved anyway.
