DO NOT BUY A CAR OR SERVICE YOUR VEHICLE AT TOM’S VOLKSWAGEN IN UNION, NJ. I purchased my 2024 Atlas Cross Sport from this dealership, and honestly, I should have walked out the day we started having issues with the Finance Manager during the purchase process. Unfortunately, things have only gotten worse since then. From the beginning, I’ve experienced ongoing problems with both the vehicle and the dealership’s service department. Most recently, my windshield wipers began turning on sporadically. After researching the issue, I discovered this is a known problem with this model year Cross Sport. When I brought it in, instead of acknowledging the issue, they made me feel like I didn’t know what I was talking about and brushed it off by saying, “They’re automatic wipers, miss.” In addition, my infotainment system frequently goes dark. I was told it would cost over $1,000 to repair. On top of that, they charged me $117 for a diagnostic fee without clearly informing me beforehand. After leaving the dealership, I immediately realized that none of the buttons on my infotainment system were working—Apple CarPlay, the power button, volume control, everything was completely unresponsive. When I called to report this, I was told, “The manager will call you back.” As usual, no one ever did. In the two years I’ve been dealing with this dealership, they have never once returned my calls. I waited two hours for someone to follow up—no response. I’ve also been left on hold for 10 minutes at a time, repeatedly. I was told the service manager was unavailable and could not speak with me. The customer service here is absolutely unacceptable. Save yourself the stress and frustration. I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. More
