Purchased a certified pre-owned CX-5 on August 22. During test drive my wife asked if the call was a smokers car due to scent observed on test drive. Salesperson said no it's detaling chemicals. The car was purchased and the dealership had the car in detailing for over an hour. Heavy chemical smell existed but faded during the first week of ownership. There is a tobacco smell that is emerging as the chemical smell fades. Have asked multiple people for outside opinions and the consensus is the car was smoked in. Love the car outside of the smell and the cover up. More
