Bait & Switch - My Wife and I drove to Leif Johnson Ford on Tuesday 7/13 to sell my 2016 GMC Canyon to Raul Sanchez (Sales Rep) and James Edwards (Sales Manager). Upon arriving to Leif Johnson Ford we recei on Tuesday 7/13 to sell my 2016 GMC Canyon to Raul Sanchez (Sales Rep) and James Edwards (Sales Manager). Upon arriving to Leif Johnson Ford we received an offer on my truck from Raul Sanchez and he text me stating “WE give you copies signed by our manager as a guarantee that you sold it to us and you will get the check”. James Edwards inspected my truck while my wife and I were inside awaiting the results of the inspection. James Edward said the truck was in great condition and would like to purchase it for the original offer that Raul Sanchez sent me. We accepted the offer and signed the dealership paper work that outlined that we would receive the full amount of the offer via check in 3-5 days. Raul Sanchez clearly stated one of the documents we signed indicted we were selling my truck to Leif Johnson Ford AS IS. We still have the contract and the document that we signed off on that we were selling the truck as is. A few days go by, come Friday 7/17. I receive a call from James Edwards stating that after their service department did a thorough inspection they found something wrong with the truck. The original offer we signed was subject to change and offered us to accept the lower offer or take back the truck. Sellers beware that Leif Johnson Ford does not honor the contract that you sign. We decided to drive down to Leif Johnson Ford and pick up my truck. Leif Johnson Ford wasted my time by offering a higher amount for my truck so we could bring it to them then turn around and change the terms of the contact after signing the truck was theirs AS IS. More
