On October 24th, 2025 I bought my daughter a new 2026 Chevy Equinox. Going over the pricing with the salesman I noticed a line-item DEALER ADDED ACCESSORIES for $499.00. I asked what this was for and was Chevy Equinox. Going over the pricing with the salesman I noticed a line-item DEALER ADDED ACCESSORIES for $499.00. I asked what this was for and was told for tinting the front two windows and putting on door guards. Right from the dealers showroom I called Glass Tint USA here in Springfield and asked what they would charge for tinting the two front windows, there charge $100.00 for both windows. You can purchase the door handle guards for $15.00 on the internet as I did. Reliable is charging me $499.00 for something that costs less that $100.00. This is an extra $400.00 PURE PROFIT for Reliable. I don't believe the salesman adds this line item I believe it is part of Reliable program and is put there by the Sales Manager and the dealership General Manager, after all these two people are paid on total profit of the dealership. The Federal Trade Commission states customers aren't required to pay for DEALER ADD-ONS if they don't want them. Go back and look at your paperwork to see if your worksheet has Dealer Added Accessories listed and if you can't find your copy Reliable would have a copy for you to look at. Go and get your REFUND. In my opinion this is a very DECEPTIVE sales practice and should be illegal. As they are shaking your hand and thanking you for your purchase they have there other hand in your wallet taking out hundreds of extra dollars for their PROFIT. More
