They are waiting for someone that they want to sell their vehicle to for their own specific purpose and feel justified in misleading prospective customers they choose to disrespect and treat like second-class citizens. Toyota Canada supports this deceptive practice as well so don’t count on any support from there either. Charlesglen’s marketing of a 7-day satisfaction guarantee is also a lie. I was informed by the sales advisor I would get my deposit back. This was not true. The dealership has illegally retained over $6,000 from me for the privilege of using the 7-day satisfaction guarantee. Please save yourself the trauma and hassle of doing business with this corrupt organization and choose another dealership. As a single woman, I have been ignored, dismissed, intimidated and robbed of a whole year of car payments by the new car sales manager, which is supported by the executive sales management team. It has been more than 6 weeks since this horrific experience and there has been no response or attempt to act in good faith, to be accountable, moral, or ethically responsible from Charlesglen Toyota. The Corolla Cross L I eventually purchased under the 7-day satisfaction guarantee is wonderful and I highly recommend it. Just be sure to buy it at any dealership other than Charlesglen Toyota.

We want to clarify that our 7 day exchange program is designed to help customers feel confident in their purchase. As communicated during the process, this program allows for a vehicle exchange, while noting that certain items such as accessories are not refundable. Warranty and insurance products are handled according to the terms of those individual providers, and we’ve ensured that those refunds were processed accordingly.
Our management team, including Alex, worked closely with you to find a fair resolution. While many dealerships do not offer an exchange option at all, Alex found a solution and supported you, even after the sale was finalized. We also have documentation of your confirmation to Alex that the matter was considered closed. During this process, Alex sent you the policy and was signed off before the exchange occurred. This was mutually agreed upon before any final documents were signed.
That said, we respect your decision to escalate this to AMVIC, and we will continue to cooperate fully and professionally with their review. Our aim is always to operate with transparency, integrity, and fairness, and we are committed to upholding those values.
We are sincerely glad to hear you are enjoying your new Corolla Cross. It’s a fantastic vehicle, and we hope it serves you well for many years to come.

Teresa, the response is not deceptive as our finance team sent over the appropriate documents to cancel your original Extra Care Protection from Toyota Canada on the Prius. This refund is processed by Toyota Canada and not Charlesglen Toyota. This is relayed in an email by Alex to you which you understood before signing off on the final exchange. In this email, Alex itemized all accessories and warranty refund for your review and it was mutually agreed upon. As previously indicated we will go through AMVIC on your complaint. Thank you

My friend who was with me witnessed these dealings and practices at the same time I did. Anyone who is reading this, please be buyer beware and buy your next vehicle from another dealership, in my horrific experience Charlesglen is no different than dealing with a fly by night used car dealership: they do not employ individuals with common decency or good character as you can see by this post.

I waited over a month before writing this review to see if Charlesglen would choose to refund the deposit amount Charlesglen has subjectively determined and illegally retained. Potential customers please consider this: When you see a written statement on a print folder advertising a “7-day satisfaction guarantee” does that relay that the new car sales manager will subjectively keep all of your deposit and not transfer it to the sale of a new vehicle? Well that’s apparently what that statement means to Charlesglen. I lost it all. Nothing transferred to the alternate vehicle I ended up with, and no supporting policy was provided to me to support this theft.
It surprises me how quick of a response I have received today considering Phil the SGM ignored my many requests to see the satisfaction guarantee terms and conditions at the time the theft occurred. He never did have the consideration to send it. The despicable way I have been treated by the executive sales team has greatly reduced any happiness I feel from buying a new vehicle. Charlesglen intentionally picks and chooses the customers they will sell their in-stock vehicles to. I did not meet their subjective customer requirements which is how I came to purchase an unsuitable Prius. Charlesglen has now kept my entire deposit. In my communication with Ms Bolton, Finance Manager at the dealership after ceasing my communication with Alex, I disclosed to her that I was “so sick of dealing with Alex and being lied to and gaslighted” that I didn’t believe a word that he or Phil the SGM says. I do not enjoy giving terrible reviews or wasting my time reliving this demeaning experience. My friend who witnessed the interaction commented to me that this situation seemed criminal. For anyone considering a purchase from Charlesglen, please be careful with your trust and on be on high alert for deceptive and misleading business practices. I expected way more from a business claiming to be #1 in anything.

Nothing I have done or communicated in my dealings changes the fact that the Charlesglen dealership intentionally uses deceptive and misleading practices in its marketing and sales activities. The new car sales manager was not made to follow the rules even from the alternate policy that was produced after the date Prius that I hated was exchanged. The new car sales manager and the SGM chose to ignore my repeated requests for an accounting to explain why they illegally retained my entire deposit amount. Charlesglen had no basis or merit to sanction me for using their advertised 7-day satisfaction guarantee the dealership chooses to promote.

She takes time to care for each of her customers in a way that is rare and special. Beyond that, I will always recommend Toyota as a great vehicle choice; the value for money spent is hard to beat.
