We travelled from about 4 hours away to look at a vehicle. Jay was very quick to respond to our questions and had everything ready when we got there. Any concerns regarding the vehicle, Jay and the vehicle. Jay was very quick to respond to our questions and had everything ready when we got there. This review will not be a surprise to the dealership. I brought my concerns to their attention, and I guess they don’t care. The salesman ignored my texts, the sales manager told me a general manager would call me, which never happened. I guess they don’t care about my satisfaction. And, they know that I signed a document when I bought the car that said I couldn’t take legal action, so they know that my hands are somewhat tied. I have two major concerns. The sales techniques when I bought the car and their deception concerning the condition of the car. The salesman knew that my main hesitation about the 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid was the hybrid component. (I had done research concerning the electric battery life replacement and insurance on hybrid cars, but didn’t research how hybrids work.) The salesman dealt with my hesitation by telling me that when the electric battery needed replacement the car could simply be used as a gas car. The sales manager agreed with him, telling me that it would be easy to use the hybrid car as a gas car. I don’t know if they were taking advantage of my lack of knowledge to secure a sale, or if they really didn’t understand how hybrid cars work. If that is the case, I feel strongly that salespeople should not be representing a product they don’t understand. I discovered the truth about hybrid cars not being able to revert to gas cars before the sale was complete and decided to go ahead with the deal. When I questioned the salesman on the deception he acted like it was an honest mistake on his part. I’m not totally convinced. The car had about 6,700 miles. The salesman showed me a document that said that the car had an oil change, all four tires replaced, and the battery was replaced. I questioned why a car with that mileage had new tires and battery replaced. The answer was that they wanted to make the car as new as possible before selling it. (Of course, I was not given this document. So, it is my word against theirs.) I always have used cars I am considering purchasing checked out by an outside mechanic. I skipped this step because of it still being under the Honda warranty. That was a mistake. There are no problems with the car, and I am totally satisfied with it. What I am concerned about is the deception concerning the condition of the car. On my 91-mile drive home the low tire pressure warning light came on and was still on the next day. I took the car to the Discount Tire I always use. They told me the tires were not new and appeared to be consistent with tires with approximately 6,000 miles. One of the tires seemed to be a little newer, but not brand new. When I questioned the salesman, I was told it really was only one tire. And, after research I have found out that reporting a replaced tire on CarFax doesn’t necessarily mean it has to be new. I then questioned the battery and the oil change. I was then given a receipt that was totally fabricated after I was questioning. The mileage on the report was the mileage on the purchase documents, which was not the mileage reported on CarFax when the work was done. I have not paid to have the battery checked to see if it is new, so I am uncertain about it, but wouldn’t be surprised if that was not replaced either. I am not concerned about the battery, tires or car in general. It is simply the deception of telling me the condition of the car when it isn’t true. I will not recommend Riverside Ford to anyone.
