The Good, no bad, and some ugly This is not our first experience with Ed Martin. We bought our first used and then first new car from them over 40 years ago. We came to the dealers This is not our first experience with Ed Martin. We bought our first used and then first new car from them over 40 years ago. We came to the dealership with a Consumer Reports price. Orignially my husband worked with Larry Taylor, but the one who replied to the CR notification was John Goodpaster and he talked with me, Diane, Dick's wife. The salesmen decided to split the sale, which we thought was reasonable and fair. I don't like to complain and I certainly don't want to get anyone in trouble, but our session with John was not good. John brought politics into the conversation as I was out for a test drive and I felt very uncomfortable. Later, during negotiations, he made religious comments which made me even more uncomfortable. John's computer skills leave much to be desired and we had to reenter data several times before all was completed . He seemed at times to not know what he was doing. I will say he was able to answer any questions we had about the vehicle. To be honest, all I wanted to do was to get out of the dealership. Everyone else there was pleasant, helpful, and easy to deal with. My husband wanted me to add that he was particularly impressed by Heather Warthan and that he thought Larry Taylor an excellent salesman who seemed to have the customers interest at heart. More

Quality Staff I rarely have the opportunity to purchase a new vehicle. The only times I've previously had to look for a new vehicle are when I've run my vehicles i I rarely have the opportunity to purchase a new vehicle. The only times I've previously had to look for a new vehicle are when I've run my vehicles into the ground after owning them for 10+ years. This has been the only instance when I've needed to purchase a new vehicle because my old was one totaled. The reason I don't have to car shop that often is because I have only been furnished quality vehicles that last from John Goodpaster. My family has been purchasing vehicles from him since before I was born and I don't see that changing anytime soon. When I contacted John to let him know I was in the market for a new vehicle he asked what I was looking for he had a lineup of vehicles ready to test drive. Even when the vehicle was at a different Ed Martin dealership he contacted the staff at the location and they had the vehicles ready to test drive in minutes. John (and the Ed Martin staff) went above and beyond to make sure the vehicle was quality and I was comfortable with my choice. It was a great first purchase experience with Ed Martin. More
