They turned awful into a pleasant experience. My experience was one of a kind. At least I hope it was. I went in after work on Tuesday 6/26/2018 and spoke with Cameron Miles (a new guy) and Corey about purchasing a vehicle. I did end up purchasing a 2016 Toyota Corolla with only 10,000 miles on it. That evening, the car was FANTASTIC. I had only driven it home from the dealership (about 15 minutes) and back to pick up the original car I had driven. (around 45 minutes total). The next morning, while on my way to work (less than 12 hours later) the car jerked really bad from a stop to accelleration and then the check engine light had come on. Once I got to work I called the dealership and made an appointment for the next day to get the car looked at. Fast forward to 7am, Thursday the 28th. I'm at the dealership and the front passenger bumper has a corner loose. I had noticed this the night before and figured it was just a clip (spoiler alert: I was wrong). I told them I was in there for the check engine light and asked if they could put a clip on the bumber because it was annoying me. They said that they didn't see an issue with it but that it would have to be taken elsewhere. They took the car back and checked the code for the check engine light and found out that it was the torque converter (??, please ignore my spelling) and that the factory warranty would cover the repair so I had to take it to the Toyota dealership in Noblesville. They made me an appointment for 8am same day at the Ed Martin Dealership. I arrive to my appointment at Ed Martin and tell them what is going on. They were immediately concerned about the bumber and said that the car had been wrecked. I knew I hadn't wrecked the car and the Carfax was clean so I assume it was the previous owner and that they didn't report a wreck. After they inspected the vehicle they found out that the damage was much more extensive than originally thought. That the car had most definetely been wrecked and that it was not drivable. At this point the headlight was loose, the bumber and grill were cracked and loose, everything that was towards the front of the car had been pushed back including the radiator. (please bare with me as I'm not a mechanic or mechanically inclined and I'm trying my hardest to remember the names of all the parts correctly) and that my hood had been stuck and once opened would not latch at all. The car was unsafe to drive. My thoughts were that I was stuck with this vehicle. Then after talking with my fiance he told me about a 3 day right to refuse law-so that was my plan. I called the loan company and asked how to proceed with cancelling the contract. Ed Martin Toyota had already been in contact with Tom Wood Honda's service department and manager so they were fully aware of the situation. When I arrived back at Tom Wood, I was irate. I was so angry that I was duped by salesmen and angry that I was sold a car that was unsafe to drive. I was greeted by the salesmen outside (hopeful to make a sale, I assume) so I told them why I was there and they knew who I was. I waited a short while and then Jason came out and spoke with me. I believe he was the general manager. He was already aware of the sitation and knew that I was there to cancel the contract. He immediately put me at ease....I went in there ready to argue and claw my way to a solution because I was wronged! His demeanor and approach was exactly what was needed in that time. He didn't make excuses for the vehicle to have made it through inspections. He was apologetic and understood. He compensated me for my day of work missed and made sure that I was able to get another vehicle with the exact same loan that I had in prior. Although-getting into another car was my choice. He did not bring it up and was more than willing to just cancel the contract as he knew that this was not a good situation. All in all, I really thank Ed Martin Toyota for helping me with this and speaking with Tom Wood before my arrival. Ryan was great there. Tom Wood Honda really stood behind their vehicles and their mistake. Mistakes are made all the time, but actions afterward show character. I will definitely recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a new vechicle. More

Jon Nigg promptly answered through EMail and called me to see if he could help me with finding my new car. I live in Muncie but seemed to go to Tom Wood in Anderson because My Mom bought her car there before but also because Jon and the staff were very helpful. We looked at several and zi explained what I wanted. I now have the perfect sporty but safe car with great miles. Jon Nigg listened to me. He also explained all the features and helped me understand my menu and helped me set up my options. I am 55 so he made it not intimidating. I left to go home and he looked in my old Traverse and gathered personal items I had left in the car and called me so I could retrieve them. He is a 10. Great experience. More
