BUYER BEWARE: TOYOTA IDENTIFIED $9,655. 61 IN RECOMMENDED WORK ON A 4RUNNER I BOUGHT FROM ECHOPARK THE DAY BEFORE. POTENTIAL COSTS COULD EXCEED $10,000. ECHOPARK COULDN'T PROVIDE ITS COMPLETED “190-POINT INSPECTION” REPORT, THEN RELISTED THE VEHICLE AS A “GOOD DEAL.” On October 5, 2026, I purchased a 2012 Toyota 4Runner Trail 4WD from EchoPark Henderson. Within hours, a powerful burning smell came from the engine area, so alarming I feared it could overheat or catch fire. THE NEXT MORNING IT TOOK SIX ATTEMPTS TO START. On the freeway to Findlay Toyota Henderson, THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT. TOYOTA SPENT APPROXIMATELY THREE HOURS INSPECTING IT, AT MY EXPENSE. Technicians showed me the leaks and provided approximately TEN PAGES of findings, photographs and estimates: • TIMING-COVER OIL LEAK: $4,636.02 • LEAKING STEERING RACK: $2,559.25 • VALVE-COVER GASKET LEAKS: $1,217.52 THOSE THREE REPAIRS ALONE: $8,412.79. Toyota's initial recommendations totaled $9,655.61, including maintenance services. Additional charges or unforeseen repairs could push potential costs beyond $10,000. Not every recommendation was an immediate defect, but discovering these documented leaks and the steering-rack recommendation ONE DAY AFTER PURCHASE was appalling. TOYOTA STAFF ASKED WHERE I PURCHASED IT. When I answered ECHOPARK, the employee WAS NOT SURPRISED. I was told they'd seen MANY OTHER ECHOPARK CUSTOMERS arrive with vehicles needing extensive work and subsequently return them. The employee spoke as though this was familiar, not an isolated incident. That's what I was personally told; I cannot independently verify those other cases. Hearing it while holding my own Toyota report was shocking. BEFORE SIGNING, I specifically requested EchoPark's COMPLETED, VEHICLE-SPECIFIC 190-POINT INSPECTION REPORT showing what was checked, what failed and what was repaired. THE SALESPERSON COULDN'T PRODUCE IT or properly explain the inspection. Instead, she directed me to a GENERIC WEBSITE CHECKLIST. THAT IS NOT PROOF OF WHAT WAS INSPECTED ON THIS VEHICLE. How were Toyota's findings accounted for? The purchase experience was dreadful. My 9:30 a.m. appointment wasn't ready. I returned at 11 a.m. and remained until 7 p.m. BOTH vehicles I viewed in my experience had stale, musty interior odors. The 4Runner's $16,497 vehicle price became $17,895 after $699 appearance protection and a $699 documentation fee, BEFORE other applicable costs. When I returned with Toyota's findings, EchoPark staff appeared dumbfounded. THEY REQUESTED, COPIED AND SCANNED THE THREE-HOUR TOYOTA REPORT I PAID FOR, DESPITE BEING UNABLE TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN BEFORE THE SALE. They did not reimburse my inspection expense. WORSE, I EMAILED ECHOPARK'S CORPORATE CONTACTS FOUR SEPARATE TIMES ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE. FOUR EMAILS. COMPLETE SILENCE. NOT EVEN AN ACKNOWLEDGMENT. I also raised concerns with dealership management. This is an appalling lack of accountability after a customer discovers nearly $10,000 in recommended work the day after purchase. INA COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER I RETURNED THE 4RUNNER, ECHOPARK ADVERTISED IT AGAIN. A subsequent listing showed a $500 price reduction, from $17,196 to $16,696, labeled “GOOD DEAL.” I cannot verify whether the recommended repairs were completed. IF THEY WERE, WHERE ARE THE REPAIR RECORDS? Buyers deserve proof, not a price label. VEHICLE: 2012 TOYOTA 4RUNNER TRAIL 4WD. VIN: JTEBU5JR6C5090698. I have Toyota's findings, photos, estimates, purchase documents and the relisting screenshot, and can share redacted records with prospective buyers. I intend to complain to NEVADA DMV COMPLIANCE ENFORCEMENT and the BBB. EchoPark accepted the return, but that doesn't excuse the missing inspection report, alarming symptoms, wasted time and expense, FOUR IGNORED CORPORATE EMAILS or rapid relisting. ONE STAR. I WOULD NEVER BUY FROM ECHOPARK AGAIN. DEMAND THE ACTUAL INSPECTION REPORT AND AN INDEPENDENT INSPECTION BEFORE BUYING. More
