last 20 years. They sent me an offer for a Free oil change & $500 of a new car purchase that I have used before at the service department for one of my cars a Toyota. I called and made an appointment with the service department after it was Approved to get the oil change even though it was a Toyota. I drove 20 minutes there & was informed by Kane the Rude Service Manager that he could Not accept the coupon they sent to me. I was looking at purchasing a 2021 Nissan Maxima. NOT NOW. I would Never do business again with this dealership who has a Service Manager that is soo RUDE. A Free Oil change would have cost him maybe $20 out of pocket. Instead it cost his dealership a Few Thousand Dollars in the loss of a Vehicle sale.

Mr. Yarem. Lets take each of these items separately. 1. You have never leased or purchased a new or used vehicle from McGrath Nissan.
You did change the oil on your Toyota back in 2019, at which point you paid $25.00 2. We did not send you a coupon to change the oil on your 2014 Toyota Corolla for free, you presented a coupon to our service advisor that had the information for the vehicle torn off, so it was someone elses coupon. We send coupons to Nissan customers that have not been in our dealership before, or for a while, to encourage them to retain their business with a Nissan dealer instead of a "Jiffy Lube".3. The only person that was RUDE was you. When you were told that you could not use the coupon and that the oil and filter change would cost $35.00 you repeatedly used swear words at my service manager at which point he simply said to you that you needed to leave. I think it's important that the folks that read Dealer Rater reviews hear what really happened. Scott McGrath

Scott you are wrong.
#1. I have never leased or purchased a car from McGrath & NEVER will. My ex-wife did. ( 2 cars)
#2. McGrath Nissan did send me a coupon. My name & address were on the front of your advertisement. The reason the coupon was taken off in front of the female service person, because I needed the other 1/2 that offered $500 off for the 2021 Maxima I was looking to purchase when I entered the show room for a view of the car. So, U are wrong!!!
#3. Please take me off your mailing list.
#4 Are you aware of the vulgar language that your service manager used? Probably NOT.
#5. Ask your showroom manager who was a Perfect gentleman by the way how rude your employee was. Most employees will stick up for each other so he may NOT tell the truth like the False accusations that U are accusing me of.
#6. Your service manager needs to be replaced. He is costing you a Ton of business.
#7. Nagy of the Bears my be looking for a job soon. Offer him the position.
Have a nice day.

Nissan Juke in August of 2013 ive become a pretty framiliar face at this dealership. I had a good amount of issues when I first had purchased he car which got taken care of. But when you purchase a new vehicle from this dealership they give you coupons for the service dept. Woo! I decided I would use one of the combo oil change coupons. While getting my oil change done I also had them take a look at my windshield fluid sprayers because they werent working correctly. They needed to order parts to fix it. Fine, its under warranty so im glad it happened now vs when the warranty was up. Keep in mind I have the same tech work on my car there because he is a close family friend, and possibly the only one that gives customers respect and treats my car as if it was his. So 10 stars to Clay!!! He is the best employee in this whole establishment. But regarding the parts that came in, I wanted clay to install them but he was not working the weekend I was able to come in and get my car fixed. So I brought it in an let some other tech work on it. I had to fight and argue with the service writer to get an appointment on a Saturday because that is the only day I am available. Strike 1. You shouldnt be giving your customers a hard time when theyre trying to make an appointment. Saterday comes along and I bring my car into the service area. No one did a walk around my car, just drove it in the shop and told me wait. 2, almost 3 hours later they let me know my car is done. I walk outside to my car to find 4 big stratches on the front drivers side of the car. I immediately marched back in there and asked why they neglected to tell me they scratched my car??? All I got was a run around of reasons of why it wasnt them who scratched it...."we talked to all of our employees that were working on your car and all of them said they didnt scratch it." Likely story. I would have known if those scratches were from me, but they were. And of course the ONE time I dont have my usual tech working on my car, this xxxx happens. So after giving me every excuse in the book of why it wasnt their fault, I asked to see a manager or owner. They told me the manager was out and so was the owner....without even checking first. Strike 2! Dont blatently lie to your customers. I went and walked around the dealership, and long behold, found the owner sitting in his office. The employees did a 'great' job of doing 'everything they could' to help. I explained to the owner the situation with my car and how service was refusing to fix the damage THEY had done. The owner personally looked at the scratches on my car and agreed they were done by the dealship when the car was in the car wash. He gave them direct orders to do whatever it took to fix my car, free of charge. 10 stars to Scott McGrath for being an awesome owner!!! A day had passed and I called in to make the appointment to get my car fixed....again! I had spoken with Kane. WORST MANAGER I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH IN MY LIFE, EXTREMELY RUDE!!! He told me it would take over a month to get me in for an appointment, kept cutting me off on the phone when I would ask questions, made it seem like it was huge inconvience for them. I could keep going on about how HORRIBLE Kanes service was. Long story short, this is the second time ive had to get the paint fixed on my new car of less than a year because of this dealership screwing up!! Along with countless rude employees ive had to deal with to get this issue resolved. Once I get my car fixed, I will NEVER be returning here unless it is a warranty issue. Get some respectful employees who know what theyre doing and know how to treat customers right!!!

After reading your review I can clearly see that the best thing for the both of us is to just move on. I can say without hesitation that we are just as frustrated as you are. We fixed the scratches on your car because there is no way to determine that we "didn't" create the scratch. So when that happens, rather than just sit there and argue with you about it, it's easier and less problematic if I just fix the problem. I wish you all the luck in the world with your Juke. I understand that you are planning on doing all you future maintenance and repairs at other Nissan dealers. If I can make any recommendations or introductions at other dealerships please let me know, your warranty is good at any Nissan dealership in the United States.

I am sorry that our client experienced this problem after more than a year of ownership with his used 2010 Maxima. We did look at the history of the vehicle and neither the vehicle history report, nor our records show any kind of bumper repair with the previous customer. We did offer to remove the bumper from the car, re-prime and re-paint the surface, and re-install it at our cost of $200.00. We would also provide the customer with the use of a rental car at no charge while we completed the repair. The client decided not to accept the offer. We are sorry for the inconvenience

I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for how Kathy Comer handled the situation. Unfortunately she should have gotten another supervisor involved right away when Kane Meland was not available. As far as your bumper I would like to look up the deal and determine the time line from the time that you purchased the vehicle used from us and when the "spider" cracking started. Because it is a pre-driven car it is not covered under any kind of factory warranty, however I would like to see if we worked on the vehicle prior to you taking delivery. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you

Victor, I have done all my research on the previous history of the vehicle. We sold the vehicle new and then took it in trade. We have no history on the previous customer or us doing any body repairs to the vehicle at any time. We checked carfax and there are no accident reports on the vehicle. I understand that after one year of ownership you are upset because your Maxima has "spider cracks" on the bumper, however we did not paint the bumper. I can only assume that someone bumped your car in a parking lot with out your knowledge and the flexing of the plastic bumper caused the paint to crack. If you would like our assistance I would be more than happy to complete the repair at our internal cost. I tried to call you back but you where not at home. Please give me a call and we can discuss it further. Scott McGrath

Victor, We will remove the front bumper, remove all the current paint that is on the panel, prime it, add a flex agent, repaint it and re-install it for our cost of $240.00. It will take 3-4 days to complete the job so I will put you in a rental car for that time and I will pay for that. If that works please give Charles Haynes a call in our collision repair shop (847-695-6700) and he will schedule you in for the repair. Thanks, Scott McGrath

Nissan Motor Corporation authorized the replacement of the transmission after the client had a sub par repair done to the transmission by an independent repair shop in Texas which didn't fix the vehicle. The client then drove it back to Illinois still having the issue. We explained that going forward it would require a transmission mount and possibly more to complete the work, however the vibration had nothing to do with the internal operations of the new transmission. Nissan denied any additional free repair as the vibration was being caused by the worn out mount. When the client was told that repairs going forward wouldn't be free he became extremely belligerent. After trying to reason with him for a few minutes with no luck, we asked the client to leave.

and combined with my immediate family we have purchased almost ten total. The management as well as the sales staff genuinely care about every customer that walks through their doors. In this instance, Matt Seger in particular was an EXCEPTIONAL sales associate to do business with. He, along with Scott McGrath, went above and beyond to find the perfect product and deal to fit my needs. Yaseen Othman in finance even finds a way to make the hassle of signing papers, writing checks, and taking loans an enjoyable experience!
In addition to being the perfect place to buy your vehicle, McGrath Nissan is also a high quality, fair priced facility to have your car serviced. I have brought in my 370Z on several occasions, not just for basic service but to install a 3M Clear Bra, have paint protection applied, stain proof the interior, the list goes on and on.
This dealership always has, and always will have my highest recommendation.
