Born in Toronto in the early 1980's, Kathryn has been an Oakville resident for over 20 years. Kat loves staying active, and along with being part of baseball and ultimate Frisbee teams, Kat is passionate about soccer (go Arsenal!), playing for several co-ed and women's teams. Kathryn is extremely adventurous and loves to push the envelope… She has ridden elephants, walked a tiger, jumped out of an airplane at 14 thousand feet, and slept under the stars in the middle of the Sahara desert just to name a few. But besides Kat’s thrill-seeking spirit, it is her honest and down-to-earth nature that attracts so many people to her. Kat’s laid-back, no pressure attitude and natural enthusiasm make her a perfect match for most customers! Next time you’re in, ask her what a scorpion tastes like!

Budds' Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC responded

We are disappointed to read your review, as it does not accurately reflect the facts surrounding this transaction. The charger adapter package was a factory option included in the vehicle's MSRP and was not a separately purchased aftermarket accessory. Although the adapter package and SiriusXM option appeared as individual factory options on the bill of sale, the same bill of sale also reflects a negotiated "Special" discount of $709, representing the combined value of those options. As a result, no additional amount was paid for either factory option beyond the negotiated purchase price of the vehicle. When it was determined that the adapter was not compatible with your charging equipment, Budds' nevertheless authorized a goodwill reimbursement of $410. This reimbursement was not required under the terms of the purchase agreement, as the adapter package had already been fully accounted for within the negotiated pricing of the vehicle. The payment was made solely as a gesture of goodwill in an effort to resolve your concerns. The remaining disagreement relates to the HST treatment of that goodwill reimbursement. After reviewing the transaction, the bill of sale, and our accounting records, our accounting department confirmed our position, which was communicated to you. While we appreciate that you disagree with our interpretation, it was not a matter of refusing to assist or dismissing your concerns. We also respectfully disagree with the characterization of Kathryn's professionalism. Throughout this matter, she worked with multiple departments to review the documentation, obtain approval for a goodwill reimbursement that exceeded the dealership's obligations, and respond based on the facts of the transaction. At no time was there any intention to mislead or treat you disrespectfully. We appreciate your positive comments regarding our Service Department and are pleased they were able to provide you with excellent service. Budds' remains committed to treating every customer professionally and fairly, and we stand behind both the integrity of our team and the manner in which this matter was handled.

Thank you for your in depth reply. The characterization of Kathryn Flynn's professionalism is absolutely true. First and foremost, she never once responded to several voicemails left for her, and truly - this was over the course of a three month period. We had questions about this reimbursement for well over three months, and never once a communication from Kathryn Flynn - even after leaving multiple voicemails. We understand that people get busy, we are very patient and understanding, but her utter disregard in communicating with us was extremely unprofessional...once again, it wasn't the money anymore, it was the principal. I am sure that she did her due diligence internally, that is her job to do so and one should not expect anything less. What a client DOES expect, is to be treated with respect and that is what Kathryn failed to do. She was disrespectful and unprofessional. Her comment that if we were to leave a negative review "reflected on the person who leaves the review" and then followed with "..this is the end of the conversation" and walked away is not acceptable behaviour from anyone in the service industry. We, during the three months, never once left a voicemail that was unkind - we merely asked for the refund and if she could call us back to let us know what was happening. No response - ever....over three months! In fact, the cheque WAS written (without the HST reimbursement), and left in an envelope on the receptionist's desk...apparently since MAY! Yet, no call from Kathryn to say the cheque was there, it was never mailed, no follow up whatsoever, inspite of the voicemails and emails we left. This is not professional. Effective communication should be at the top of a sales managers list. One the key principals of sales is that the "customer is always right, even if they are wrong", and it is "how" the sales manager deals with issues. The Service Department, on the other hand, were exceptional, where the service fellow actually called us while on vacation, to help remedy the issue with the charger adapter! This was above the call of duty and this is why we highly praise the service department...each service individual we dealt with since the purchase of the Optiq have been extremely communicative, tried to rectify the issue and followed up. We recently had to bring in the vehicle as it had a computer issue with phone connectivity and a seal had broken off the door and the service techs were awesome! That is how I ran into Kathryn and followed up face to face...otherwise, I don't believe I would have heard from her to this day. Kathryn needs some education with respect to effective client communication and a bit of a reminder on how to behave professionally. Having the title of Sales Manager is a privilege that is earned, and not a right. We just hope that we were a "one of" and that she learns from this - because a poor review is merely a tool for one to learn from.
