Had a verbal deal (confirmed over clear texts) on a Tundra. On my way to the dealership to sign the paperwork, the sales rep called saying the truck was in the shop getting 3 recalls fixed and to come Tundra. Two hours later I was called and told that a different buyer showed up willing to pay full price, and they sold it to that person instead — same day we'd agreed on a price over text. I asked to speak with a manager twice, and didn't hear anything until after the dealership had already closed for the night. When the manager, J. R. Cihura,, finally did call, he wasn't apologetic; he told me it was my fault for not putting down a deposit, even though nobody at Corwin ever suggested I do that, precisely because their own team was treating the sale as a done deal. Blaming the customer after quietly selling out from under them, and only calling back after hours and after being asked twice, is exactly the kind of behavior that gives car dealerships and salespeople the reputation they have. If you're buying here, get everything in writing, put money down even if they don't ask you to, and don't expect an apology if you get rug pulled. More
