I myself, had a very troubling experience with Atlantic Honda in September of this year. Here are some of the highlights of what had transpired: "Senior" sales consultant, Larry Ellis, & sales manager, Rich Lobraico, dared to try and REALLY pressure me into buying a car I was interested in. It was a black 2008 Honda CRV EX-L. They were beyond condescending and downright rude, and this is coming from a person who is very understanding and never writes negative reviews. When I first sat down, I told Mr. Ellis that I'm wary of car dealerships, as I had just come from a couple of untrustworthy dealers. I thought he would be understanding of my concern. Well, was I wrong! Mr. Ellis went as far as telling me that statistically, car buyers take much less time to buy a car than the time I've spent to find one. It was more of a criticism really, especially since he never stopped harping on it. First of all, why should I care? How is it even any of his business? It's quite apparent that he was pushing me to leave with a car that day. I had spent only a week and a half looking at cars online and just a few days physically going down to dealerships prior to coming to Atlantic Honda. Does that seem like an excessive amount of time to look for a car, a car which I do not need right away since I still have my current car to drive? Throughout the one and a half to two hours I was there, Mr. Ellis kept emphasizing that I should go with a certified pre-owned car, instead of one that was not certified. I explained to him over and over again, that I did not need to spend a couple of thousand more for a certified car, as my close friend is a great mechanic. He would NOT stop badgering me on how that was an unwise decision, completely ignoring my wishes. I had told him that I was not interested in a car with a back-up camera. I find that people who rely only on a back-up camera are more likely to get into an accident or run over somebody than looking behind themselves. He even tried using scare tactics by "scolding" me, telling me that I could very well run over a small child without a back-up camera! I know this sounds unbelievable, but this came straight out of his mouth. He was really pressuring me to buy that car that night, though he never told me what he would sell the car for. We were just going round in circles. I should have gotten up and left immediately but at the time, I was still thinking of buying the car, even though I didn't really trust him or Mr. Lobraico. He actually asked me several times why it is that I did not trust him? Is it just me or isn't that just simply unprofessional? Besides, after I prefaced our conversation with the bad experiences I had, you'd think he'd understand why. I told him that I needed to think about buying it, that I wouldn't just buy it the moment I saw it and that I never make big purchases right away. So, after spending all of that time there, I left it with him that there was another car I was interested in at a different dealership and that I would come back to test drive the car the next day, after I've looked at the other car, or if I decided on the other car, I'd let him know. (Which is more than he deserved from me.) After I fell in love with the other car at the other dealership, a dealership that treated me with the respect I deserved, I called Mr. Ellis. He called me out, saying I lied to him about buying a car right away because that is what I had just done. How dare he?! He was so very angry with me; he acted as if I had bruised his ego, or like a little child who didn't get his way. He then said he'd match the price if I came back to "do business" with him. Well, those words basically summed up what he's all about. I wasn't looking to "do business." I was looking for a trustworthy person looking out for my best interest, not a sleazy car salesman. More

Nice greeting as we entered the dealership by Pre-owned manager I would first like to say that the whole experience at Atlantic Honda was a pleasure! Nice greeting as we entered the dealership by Pre-owned manager Matt Byrne who quickly introduced us to the salesman Larry Ellis that was assigned to us. Larry answered all our questions very patiently and there were many! . Took the time to let us test drive 3 different pre-owned cars and did it with a smile! Never did we feel pressured to make a decision on that day but we were so anxious to make the deal there and then! I was dealing with other Pre-owned departments at 2 other dealerships and there was no comparison to Atlantic Honda. Of course our salesman Larry was fantastic but also the very easy hours they hold gave me many options to get to the dealership! The other dealerships did not have that flexibility! And finally the day we picked up our Mini we were greeted and guided to a great waiting area with coffee options and a great T.V. To catch some scores while our plates were being put on the car. Our salesman Larry then sat in the car with us for almost an hour going over every gadget the Mini had to offer and there were many! Again the whole car buying experience was superb!
