I would give them zero stars if I could. Sales is no substitute for service. They are rude, unkind and arrogant after multiple service blunders. substitute for service. They are rude, unkind and arrogant after multiple service blunders. More

This was my 26 year The only reason I gave 1 star is because I can’t give negative 10 stars. Long story short: 2016 engine blew up at 62,000 miles. This was my 26 year old daughter’s first car she bought on her own. This dealership never diagnosed why the engine blew up. Speculated the timing belt skipped (a Volvo timing belt should last for 250k miles). Even if that was the case, that is a manufacturing issue. No blame could be placed on my daughter for the engine blowing up, although Volvo USA customer service tried to tell my husband the timing belt skipped because the spark plugs were 2k miles overdue to be changed (this is a mechanical impossibility). They wanted to charger her $16k for a new engine. Told us they would do us a favor and put a rebuilt one in for $10k or they would buy it from her for $6500. She owes $15k. There were no good options for her. We dealt with the local dealership, Volvo National and Volvo International in Sweden. They would not stand behind their motor. We would have gladly paid the labor to have a rebuilt motor put in, but we feel Volvo should have provided the motor at their cost. We felt that was reasonable. We weren’t looking for a hand out, but also knew Volvo needed to own some responsibility for the workmanship of this motor. There are lots of reports online of similar issues with no known cause (don’t take my word for it, do the research). I have gone to social media, and people have reached out with similar issues. One person reached out and said they did not go back to this dealership when they bought their second Volvo because the service department was so bad. Our next stop will be to the local news station. We do not want this to happen to anyone else. Do not invest 10s of thousands of dollars in a product that a company will not stand behind. Ralph in particular was very rude. When we had AAA come pick the car up they wouldn’t even tell the driver which car was my daughter’s. She had to go to the dealership to tell him. My daughter lives in Mooresville. When we found our own used engine and someone to put it in, so my daughter would only lose $4000 my husband walked into the dealership and the first thing Ralph said to my husband was “ you are a bold faced liar!” Who lets their people talk to customers like that? If choosing a different path so our daughter doesn’t have as much financial fallout from buying a lemon, then yes I guess he is a liar, because we originally told them we would sell them the car back. What I would have expected from a decent human being would have been understanding that we were able to make her bad situation a little better, but that did not happen. We had always heard Volvos were great cars, they last forever. That may have been the case for the Volvo of yesteryear, but that was not our experience with today’s Volvo. Buyer beware. However, if you feel you have to buy a Volvo, do me a personal favor and buy it anywhere but from this dealership. Our next stop...Modern Toyota! More

I bought my 2nd s60 & this car is terrible. I had an older 02 Volvo & it’s still going strong with 225k miles. 2015 model is the complete opposite experience. Only had it 1 1/2 yrs. I’ve had to repla older 02 Volvo & it’s still going strong with 225k miles. 2015 model is the complete opposite experience. Only had it 1 1/2 yrs. I’ve had to replace an evaporator core, thermostat sensor, and paint peeling without any accident and the car only has 66k miles. The dealer wasn’t helpful. I was promised free oil chains but charged. I have my money return for that incident, however at the same time they replaced windshield wipers without my Consent & have never be reinbursted. Tried talking with manger Les & Was blowed off As well as had an excuse for everything & his reasoning for the problems. He also said Carfax reports are not accurate! I need to investigate to see if it’s true. Volvo North America doesn’t stand by Their product. Doesn’t always document your calls nor gives you correct information prior to having work done on the car. More

Do Not buy a used car at Volvo of the Triad WS, NC! My wife & I- a retired couple were looking for a reliable second car at a good price. We found a used car at this dealership. The service manager, Ra My wife & I- a retired couple were looking for a reliable second car at a good price. We found a used car at this dealership. The service manager, Ralph, called to confirm the car had been " thoroughly checked" and was in great mechanical condition. Also, it had the dealers " 200 point check up" and all was positive. After signing all the paperwork, but prior to paying, we insisted we take the car to our own trusted mechanic. We met our salesperson at our mechanics shop. When the car was raised on his lift, oil was dripping from everywhere! Long story short, repairs would be $3000-$5000 minimum!! it is beyond my belief that a dealership could be this unethical. The sales manager, Les, was so positive about all the "check points" being positive. Even more difficult to comprehend, is a service manager (Ralph) out right lying about the mechanical condition of the car. I am so thankful we did not purchase this vehicle prior to having our mechanic check it out. My advice, look elsewhere for a car. And Volvo of WS, NC- you should be ashamed for condoning such deception! More

I worked primarily with Daniel and I was completely at ease. As a female, that's important to me. I didn't feel pressure and I felt heard. You can tell, not only him but everyone, cares about what they're doing. Everything felt fair and honest and I felt taken care of. Like I'm already part of the family. Not to mention, I got a killer car! Would recommend to anyone. More

We are very much looking forward to doing business with Thomas Wells again when my wife replaces her V-70 with an S model. Given all the R&R work the dealership did after taking this original Volvo of the Triad car on trade a second time, I look forward to many months of near-perfect performance and thereafter to having this dealer's service techs keep the technology running flawlessly. Poor customer service and even worse auto service. I purchased a Volvo XC70 with high miles from this dealership. I was given a stack of inspection paperwork showing all systems checked out and a list I purchased a Volvo XC70 with high miles from this dealership. I was given a stack of inspection paperwork showing all systems checked out and a list of repairs they performed on the vehicle. The service included an oil change, new tires and the front end aligned. The tires were the cheapest available for the vehicle, which I don't believe belong on a quality vehicle from a quality dealer. I had the tires replaced after 2000 miles and the tech found the tie rod end lock bolts were backed off by over 1/8th of an inch, and not tightened as required. I had to have the alignment re done costing over $80.00, not to mention the safety issue. 10/17- The dealership did get back to me, they refunded me the cost of the alignment, and the General Manager gave me his contact info if I had any other issues. Anthony did a great job going over the inventory with me as well as test driving every car I was interested in. Salem was a wonderful point of contact and Mark, Jim, and Wes were great people to work with when coming to a final price and going through paperwork and delivery. I highly recommend this dealership.
