I had my car towed to Freedom Dodge because it died going down the road. Auto Zone checked it out and said it could be a battery or alternator. I had it towed to Freedom Dodge in Sherman. They kept it one down the road. Auto Zone checked it out and said it could be a battery or alternator. I had it towed to Freedom Dodge in Sherman. They kept it one full day to go through their inspection process. The next day I called and asked what it would cost to fix the car. Micah gave me a quote of $2750 to repair it. He gave me a break down of alternator, battery, timing belt, serpentine, and water pump. When I complained about the price he said he could go down to bare bones and give me an alternator and a battery. His original quote included items to bring the car up to date according to the cars mileage like spark plugs, water pump and cooling system service. The original quote did not give these maintenance addons as options for repairing the car. I felt like they were simply trying to run up my bill. I had the car towed from Freedom Dodge to a mechanic in Denison. He said the car just required an alternator and battery. He repaired it for $536.52. He said that was all this car needed. I took it home rejoicing that I had saved over $2200! The car runs very well and I found a new mechanic that treats me with integrity and does excellent work! My suggestion for all car dealerships is to give a quote for making actual needed repairs to get the car back on the road. Then optional maintenance options should be listed and addressed as such. Otherwise you will come across as a high pressure sales company who has little regard for customers and what they can afford. More
