We are currently looking for a used F150 in the Reno area and found one listed at Corwin Ford Reno (stock #6B43544), previously listed for $31,995. I spoke with Tyler over the course of about a week asking f and found one listed at Corwin Ford Reno (stock #6B43544), previously listed for $31,995. I spoke with Tyler over the course of about a week asking for additional photos and information. During those conversations there was no mention of any damage to the truck. Before we made the trip, Tyler encouraged us to put a $500 hold on the vehicle so it wouldn’t sell before we arrived, which we declined since we had not yet seen the truck in person. We drove about an hour and fifteen minutes to see the vehicle at Corwin Ford Reno. Tyler brought the truck around and then handed us off to Mario. Once we inspected the truck in person, we noticed several visible condition issues that had not been discussed previously. There was a large scratch through the paint on the tailgate, dents in the rear quarter panel and driver’s side rear door, multiple nicks and dings down the driver’s side, heavy rock chips on the front, a dent in the roof, and a cracked windshield. The interior also had deep scratches in the side panels, a puncture hole in the back of the passenger seat, and a hole in the rear bench seat. The truck had also not been detailed despite being listed for about a week and knowing we were coming to see it. One additional concern for us was that the truck had a “Safety OK” sticker in the window while the windshield had visible spidering cracks, which raised questions during our inspection. When we brought these issues up, we were told Corwin Ford Reno operates as a one-price store and there was no room for negotiation because the truck was “priced accordingly.” Tyler confirmed he was aware of the condition concerns and said the price already reflected them. However, Corwin Ford Reno currently has other F150s listed with fewer miles and in better condition for similar pricing. When we checked the website the next day, we also noticed the price of this truck had increased by $1,000, and the listing still did not appear to show the condition issues we observed in person. The biggest disappointment for us is that Corwin Ford used to be a dealership we had very positive experiences with when they were located on Kietzke. We’ve had several transactions with Corwin Ford over the years. Unfortunately, this is now the second experience in the past year that left us feeling disappointed, and because of that we likely won’t consider Corwin Ford Reno when continuing our search. I hope management at Corwin Ford Reno reviews the listing and condition of stock #6B43544 so that the vehicle presentation online better reflects the condition customers will see when they arrive. We’re simply sharing our experience so other buyers know to carefully inspect vehicles in person and ask detailed questions before making the trip. More
