The warranty cost $2328(the best warranty that was available) and the term was 48 months or 48,000 miles. Because I purchased it at the dealership, I thought that it was through Infiniti of North America, providing me with peace of mind, only to later find out that it was through a third-party contractor. Recently, I brought my car to a Firestone Complete Auto Care center for a routine oil change and tire rotation. While waiting for the car, I was informed by the technician that there was a problem. When removing the oil plug, a part of the oil pan came with it, which was not supposed to happen and the oil pan had to be replaced. I was told that this was not an uncommon occurrence and that it was a design flaw. I contacted Infiniti of Coconut Creek about the issue. The person in service said that they could not rely on a third party opinion and that the car would have to be towed, which was not drivable at the time, to the dealership so they could inspect it. Again, the warranty I purchased was bumper to bumper. In the event that the issue was not covered, it would cost me over $2800 in labor to replace the oil pan. How insane was that. Instead, I made a decision to let Firestone replace the oil pan, which cost $366.46. By the way, once they received the part, it took no longer than 2 hours to replace it. Infiniti told me that it would be between 6 and 8 hours. If I had towed the car to Infiniti and that they would not cover it, there was no way I would let them proceed. I made the right decision. I then contacted Infiniti of North America and repeatedly explained the issue to a number of people. Time that I will never get back. After all the time I wasted, all I got was apologies for the situation I was in and Infiniti of North America could do nothing. I asked if Infiniti had any control over the dealerships, what the dealership could charge for repairs or if there was any remediation or arbitration on the customers behalf. Apparently not. All I can say, is that I will continue to let people know how Infiniti of North America does not advocate for the customer and are only interested in selling cars to dealerships who only care about their profit margin. In all honesty, I did receive a voicemail from Nash, the service advisor, at Infininit of Coconut Creek, Florida, I tried to contact him a number of times, but to this day, has not returned my calls. I even tried to contact the general manager, but no one would allow me to speak to him. Totally pathetic. Infiniti of Coconut Creek, the management and its staff are only interested in one thing: taking advantage of customers who trust them. You’ve got to make a living somehow. Why not do it at the expense of others. Their practices are unconscionable. Wherever I can post a review I will continue to do so. More
