I spent two weeks trying to buy a 2027 Corolla Hatchback from Longo Toyota, and the entire experience was a masterclass in frustration and bad business. First, I filled out everything online and secured an "internet price." But when I showed up in person, they refused to honor it. To make matters worse, they offered me an insulting $250 for my trade-in. Fed up with their arrogance, I promptly walked out. A few days later, a salesperson called to try and "make things right." After days of back-and-forth negotiation—where I had to force them to match a competitor's offer—we finally agreed on the vehicle price and trade-in value. Because I work two jobs, getting to the dealership during the week is incredibly difficult. On Wednesday, I called to secure the vehicle with a $500 deposit. The salesman flatly refused, claiming their policy required a minimum of $1,000. It was a ridiculous hurdle, especially since a rival dealer only required $500. The money wasn't the issue—the lack of integrity was. Less than 24 hours later, they texted me to say the blue car I wanted had "just sold." In the very next breath, they asked if I wanted to put a $500 deposit down on a white one instead. I was furious. Suddenly, the $500 deposit they rejected the day before was perfectly acceptable, but only if it was used to push a color I didn't want. Other people might have great things to say about Longo Toyota, but I don't. They wasted my time, played textbook dealership games, and lost my business permanently. More
