Deposit Refund Issue – Buyer Beware I’m posting this to document my experience and to ask whether others have encountered similar issues. When I later decided not to proceed, I requested that the deposit be refunded electronically back to the card, which is standard practice and how the deposit was taken. Instead, I was told the refund could not be processed electronically and that I would need to return to the dealership in person to retrieve it. This requirement was not disclosed at the time the deposit was taken, and no clear or legitimate explanation was provided for why an electronic refund was not possible. The practical effect was that my money was held unless I physically returned to the dealership, creating unnecessary friction around a straightforward refund. After repeated emails and escalation, this felt less like an administrative issue and more like resistance to returning the deposit. I’ve leased and purchased multiple vehicles over many years, including from Honda dealerships, and this is the first time I’ve experienced pushback on a simple deposit refund. If others have had similar experiences with deposit refunds at Sloane Honda - delays, in-person requirements, or resistance - I’d be interested to hear about it.
