But since the car was purchased during the inventory crunch created by the pandemic, it was not the greatest deal or optioned the way I wanted. But I wanted a Mercedes and was willing to take what they had. I worked with Mykola (Nick) Peresunko & Thomas (Tom) Tzimoulis on this purchase and developed a good relationship with both. Let me preface this by saying, I HATE ELECTRIC CARS. There is nothing better than blowing past a Tesla (I do know they are fast) or Prius in my AMG, loved it. I was firmly committed to not getting an EV until such time that it was the only available option left. I went into MBOC to discuss an AMG GLE 53. Another dealership offered me one. My wife and I went in to see Nick about it, but it was his day off. Sorry Nick, but we were very lucky you were off. It gave me a chance to meet Josephine Nikolla. She introduced herself, asked if we needed help, explained the Nick was off, & introduced us to Mercedes line of EVs. Her soft-sell & ability to related to my wife & me made us interested in taking a test drive. It was a white EQE 500 SUV. Once I drove it, I had to have one. We discussed color options, availability, and trading in the AMG before we left but were expecting to complete the transaction with her the following day. Not know the protocol, I did completely understand when she handed us back to Nick to complete the transaction. We returned the following day to speak to Nick about the car. We saw 2 colors that we were interested in but were not overwhelmed. We started thinking about Emerald Green metallic. Despite this not being her sale anymore, Jo went to and got an Emerald Green metallic car for us to see in person. It completely sealed the deal. With this decided, Nick was able to locate such a car for us. I would be remiss if I did not also mention Walter Pensa, General Sales Manager. Between the trade-in offer & the price of the new car, it was an offer we could not refuse. We completed the sale with Tom, who was again transparent & honest throughout the process. Because of another client, Nick was unable to walk us through the pickup & new car walk-through. Josephine stepped up again. She made sure my wife & I were familiar with the car before leaving. Because of the team at Mercedes Benz of Orange County, Josephine, Nick, Tom & Walter, my wife & I are the proud owners of an EQE 500 SUV. Thanks everyone. See you again shortly for our next one.
