I spent two weeks searching for a 2025 Kia Soul EX, visiting multiple dealerships including Naperville Kia and Evergreen Kia in Chicago, before deciding to negotiate with Castle Kia McHenry. I came pre visiting multiple dealerships including Naperville Kia and Evergreen Kia in Chicago, before deciding to negotiate with Castle Kia McHenry. I came prepared with a detailed negotiation summary (printed form) outlining my offer of $23,900 base price (OTD ~$24,441, or ~$23,441 with a requested $1,000 Family & Friends discount), backed by market research from Edmunds and Kelley Blue Book, as well as local competitor pricing. However, my experience was utterly disappointing. When I arrived, I handed over my negotiation form, which they took without hesitation. Despite asking multiple times for it to be returned, they ignored my requests. When they finally gave it back—after I insisted—it was torn in half, a clear sign of disrespect from the staff. The workers showed no professionalism, and the finance guy got visibly upset with me for taking too long to review the terms, even though I was trying to ensure the deal aligned with my budget and the $22,441 loan at 4.99% APR I’d pre-approved with my bank. This dealership’s attitude was unacceptable. I wanted to support a local McHenry business and value the Soul EX’s safety features like Lane Keeping Assist, but their behavior made me reconsider. I won’t be buying from Castle Kia McHenry, and I advise others to steer clear unless their customer service improves dramatically. One star is generous given the experience More
