On 3/23/22 my husband put a $2,000 deposit down with Beyer Volvo Cars Falls Church on a 2021 Ford Mustang GT VIN#1FA6P8CFXM5112940. Due to our work schedules, we were not able to come down to pick up th Beyer Volvo Cars Falls Church on a 2021 Ford Mustang GT VIN#1FA6P8CFXM5112940. Due to our work schedules, we were not able to come down to pick up the car until 3/30/22, but our salesperson George M. said with the $2,000 deposit the car would be held until we got there. After back and forth with both George M. and Mike M. (Sales MGR) to get paperwork, add car to insurance, and also to send our licenses etc. down we were all set to purchase plane tickets. Plane tickets were purchased on 3/24/22 through United. Flight details were sent to George M. so that he could arrange Uber and to have the car ready. He confirmed all of this by email on 3/25/22. We also confirmed that we are good to go, have the car, and could sell my husband’s car. So we sold his car on 3/25/22 and now we were all set and ready to go. Copy of the payment being secured and the insurance was sent to the dealership as well during this time. On 3/28/22 my husband had 3 missed calls from Beyer Volvo and woke up to the 4th call which he was able to answer in time. The salesperson George M. and General Sales Manager Max A. called to inform us that the car we are flying down to get was stolen along with three Volvos. My husband was in complete shock and Max offered deposit back and airfare. My husband stated he would call once I got home. At 4pm we called Max back and we felt bad they had 4 cars stolen, and apologized to Max and inquired about refund. We asked how the cars were stolen and Max said when they arrived in they found broken glass and they are close to the port and that’s probably where the cars end up. We said with technology this is very odd and he said “I lost 3 other cars as well”. Max said he would call us back on 3/29/22 to confirm he refunded us. We did not hear from Max on 3/29/22 so I sent Max an email on March 29th at 5:36pm inquiring about the deposit, airfare, and wrote in the email refund for the stolen car. Max has short responses back which was a red flag as well as the entire situation. We contacted our insurance company as well to inform them that the car was stolen and what do we do. We were nervous that we would have an insurance claim and stressed out for 4 day’s waiting to hear back. After a few days went by everything just seemed completely off as this car had upgraded anti-theft features and how could 4 expensive cars go missing from a dealership that’s in a main area near traffic lights and a lot of traffic. Why wasn’t this on the media, but theft of catalytic converters were? We decided to check databases and police logs for the report of the car theft. The car was never reported stolen, the VIN is clear, and the Falls Church Police log makes no mention of 4 stolen cars. I decided on 4/7/22 after confirming the car still has no theft reports to contact the dealership again and this time speak to the General Manager Pete K. Pete was unaware of 4 cars being stolen and was in shock, he stated. I explained everything that happened and he asked me to forward the plane ticket information and he also stated this is not Max’s character or to do something like this. I forwarded emails and the information requested via email to Pete on 4/7/22. As frustrated as I am with this dealership, I can speak highly about Pete, not only was he honest and listened, 3/28/22. He also is the only one to apologize to me for all that happened to us. We sold my husband's car, put full coverage insurance on the new car, had a $48,000 bank check in hand written to the dealership, gave a $2,000 deposit, purchased $700 plane tickets, took time off from work and contacted our insurance to report a stolen car which wasn’t actually stolen. I hope Max is held accountable for his actions, what he did to my family and lying about filing a police report for 4 stolen cars. He was dishonest, deceiving and mislead us which is fraud. Why did this happen to us when we paid full price on the vehicle and everything was lined up and the dealership was on board with our arrival time? The dealership had our $2,000 deposit on the car and reassured us they can't sell it with that deposit on it. So clearly George found is acceptable to lie to us along with Max. We apologized to Max on March 28th and explained how bad we felt for the dealership to have to deal with this, but in realty we were the ones who were owed an apology from Max and George that to this day we still haven’t received. Max and George sold a car out from under us and led us to believe for the last few weeks that the car was stolen along with 3 others. What Max and George did to us is unacceptable and the fact that Max being in his position had no problem lying to us several times tells me this isn't his first time. Beyer Auto is a family run business that I thought was reputable and cared about their customers, but after this I have no trust in certain employees that they employ and their tactics. More
