Service department is shady make sure you get the part they replaced. They'll give a million reason why you can't have it. The one which is more likely the truth is, it's still on your car. they replaced. They'll give a million reason why you can't have it. Recently I took my 2016 XC 90 in for a service. I bought my SUV December 23, 2019. Currently my vehicle has 67,000 miles on it. I was called later in the day to be informed that I would need to pay for seve my SUV December 23, 2019. Currently my vehicle has 67,000 miles on it. I was called later in the day to be informed that I would need to pay for several weeks of testing to ultimately attempt to apply for goodwill money to replace my engine and pistons. However, there was no Guarantee that goodwill money would aid in this cost. I was extremely confused how could a car that is supposed to last for a lifetime (as Volvo states) already need an engine replaced at 67,000 miles? I was told in the service department that it was best to get out now. I was kindly shown other vehicle so that I could purchase a ticket price on the car. Not only would they not negotiate the price they would also not give me payoff for my current vehicle therefore leaving me with a higher car payment because of a problem with manufacturing aluminum engines. I was told to choose a 2018 or higher to avoid this problem in another vehicle I purchased. I was also told this happens to multiple cars but unfortunately it was not a recall yet. Therefore, I would be responsible for the charges. When leaving the dealership I was told if I chose to purchase a new car they would not charge me the diagnostic fee. Even though they couldn’t diagnose my car they were just going to run a series of test because they thought they knew the problem and needed to prove it. I have purchased in my lifetime two cars from Volvo of the Triad and my family five or six. It didn’t used to be like other car dealerships. At this point the luxury of a Volvo service does not exist. It is just a basic car dealership with no amenities for those that choose to be Volvo drivers. The oil changes for life do not include if there’s an issue with your car. I would highly advise choosing another vehicle especially if Volvo of the Triad cannot stand behind the ones they sell. I am extremely disappointed! More

This was my 26 year The only reason I gave 1 star is because I can’t give negative 10 stars. Long story short: 2016 engine blew up at 62,000 miles. This was my 26 year old daughter’s first car she bought on her own. This dealership never diagnosed why the engine blew up. Speculated the timing belt skipped (a Volvo timing belt should last for 250k miles). Even if that was the case, that is a manufacturing issue. No blame could be placed on my daughter for the engine blowing up, although Volvo USA customer service tried to tell my husband the timing belt skipped because the spark plugs were 2k miles overdue to be changed (this is a mechanical impossibility). They wanted to charger her $16k for a new engine. Told us they would do us a favor and put a rebuilt one in for $10k or they would buy it from her for $6500. She owes $15k. There were no good options for her. We dealt with the local dealership, Volvo National and Volvo International in Sweden. They would not stand behind their motor. We would have gladly paid the labor to have a rebuilt motor put in, but we feel Volvo should have provided the motor at their cost. We felt that was reasonable. We weren’t looking for a hand out, but also knew Volvo needed to own some responsibility for the workmanship of this motor. There are lots of reports online of similar issues with no known cause (don’t take my word for it, do the research). I have gone to social media, and people have reached out with similar issues. One person reached out and said they did not go back to this dealership when they bought their second Volvo because the service department was so bad. Our next stop will be to the local news station. We do not want this to happen to anyone else. Do not invest 10s of thousands of dollars in a product that a company will not stand behind. Ralph in particular was very rude. When we had AAA come pick the car up they wouldn’t even tell the driver which car was my daughter’s. She had to go to the dealership to tell him. My daughter lives in Mooresville. When we found our own used engine and someone to put it in, so my daughter would only lose $4000 my husband walked into the dealership and the first thing Ralph said to my husband was “ you are a bold faced liar!” Who lets their people talk to customers like that? If choosing a different path so our daughter doesn’t have as much financial fallout from buying a lemon, then yes I guess he is a liar, because we originally told them we would sell them the car back. What I would have expected from a decent human being would have been understanding that we were able to make her bad situation a little better, but that did not happen. We had always heard Volvos were great cars, they last forever. That may have been the case for the Volvo of yesteryear, but that was not our experience with today’s Volvo. Buyer beware. However, if you feel you have to buy a Volvo, do me a personal favor and buy it anywhere but from this dealership. Our next stop...Modern Toyota! More

Even after leaving multiple messages they do not even bother to call back. Probably will never buy any vehicle from this dealer again. After leaving negative review I was called by this dealer and they asked me to come to showroom to get the issue fixed. When I went to dealer, I was told by service manager Mr Ralph that "we have orders from Owner that my vehicle will ONLY be attended if I remove my negative feedback". Staff is very rude, and was told to go to another Volvo dealership. Once again- by doing this, this dealership is attesting the level of service they can provide and proving one more time that once sales is done they don't care. Very bad! More

They di We've been customers of this dealership for over twenty years and have over the past several years seen a decline in their customer service. They did body repair on one of our vehicles a few years ago and we recently noticed that the work with not completed as expected. The liftgate on the vehicle began to not open properly. After taking the vehicle to local repair shop, they pointed out that components had been left off during the repair and that was causing the issue. WS Volvo initialed talked as if they may correct the issue. We were subsequently called by the Operations Manager (Ralph Harding) who was extremely rude to my husband and ended the call by telling him not to come on their property again or the police would be called. We were accused of threatening them. All we asked was that they do the right thing. We are not difficult people and were shocked to be treated in this manner. A local body shop made our repair for less than $200 because they felt we had been treated so unfairly that they didn't charge us for their labor. Please stay away from this dealer. If available were would give them negative stars. More

Do Not buy a used car at Volvo of the Triad WS, NC! My wife & I- a retired couple were looking for a reliable second car at a good price. We found a used car at this dealership. The service manager, Ra My wife & I- a retired couple were looking for a reliable second car at a good price. We found a used car at this dealership. The service manager, Ralph, called to confirm the car had been " thoroughly checked" and was in great mechanical condition. Also, it had the dealers " 200 point check up" and all was positive. After signing all the paperwork, but prior to paying, we insisted we take the car to our own trusted mechanic. We met our salesperson at our mechanics shop. When the car was raised on his lift, oil was dripping from everywhere! Long story short, repairs would be $3000-$5000 minimum!! it is beyond my belief that a dealership could be this unethical. The sales manager, Les, was so positive about all the "check points" being positive. Even more difficult to comprehend, is a service manager (Ralph) out right lying about the mechanical condition of the car. I am so thankful we did not purchase this vehicle prior to having our mechanic check it out. My advice, look elsewhere for a car. And Volvo of WS, NC- you should be ashamed for condoning such deception! More

When my wife brought it in for service she was told she had to wait at the dealer without a loaner after they initially had offered her one thus altering her workday at the last minute. Tire pressure monitor light on and VCWS turns it off finding no problem with tires. 2 days later TPM light on again and nail is removed/tire plugged at local tire dealer. Despite repeated service at recommended intervals at this dealer and requests to have tires rotated as needed the only comment on service paper work was "light tire wear." At 39k oil change Jiffy Lube detects severe irregular wear along the inner aspect of multiple tires and recommends return to Volvo for possible warranty issue. VCWS is dismissive and denies making any errors. The next day all four tires replaced and camber/alignment appropriately repaired at Greensboro Volvo with excellent customer service. No reason for us to decline service on a fleet car as it is covered by fleet company. These guys have poor customer service and poor tire expertise. More
