I had a somewhat typical buying experience when buying from a dealer. Really good through buying the car but once you’ve bought it, no customer service. As a marketing person it is always fascinating to m from a dealer. Really good through buying the car but once you’ve bought it, no customer service. As a marketing person it is always fascinating to me. The systems (ie, emails etc) are impeccably written and automated. Things like, “if we were not a 10, please let us know.” However, when I had a potential problem that I did not catch in the two test drives (raining both times), the response was “well, we’ll look at it but we go through the cars thoroughly and if there is anything else, it will cost you.” I went to a dealer and paid more in hopes that they would do a more thorough job of vetting the car, especially if I’m paying $30k for a used car. I guess I’m disappointed but not surprised. End of the day, it’s on me for believing it would be different. As a teacher of marketing, kudos to whoever does your pre-sale and moment of sale communication. I would suggest you hire someone equally to consult and execute post sale. More
