Out of State Buyers Beware - I purchased a new vehicle from Lawrence Hall Ford. Traveled roundtrip (~1,000 miles) to the dealership for their selection and pricing that was advertised on their website. Prior to traveling to the dealership, I had called and confirmed pricing in advance. My salesperson Rodney did a great job helping select the vehicle and following through with the entire process. If you go here, I would highly recommend him. After a very long drive, I arrived at the dealership, test drove and selected the vehicle. The Business Manager Pete and Sales Manager Cory provided a written out the door price for the truck (this was the same as the price discussed and same as the internet advertised price). Decision was to move forward with the purchase. I met with the Business Manager to finalize the deal, he entered all the information, and to my surprise, the out the door price was $500 more than they originally wrote on paper. They stated, this was due to the fact that Ford has regional rebates that apply only to the zip code where the vehicle will be registered. This is something that should have been communicated up front and written on the initial paperwork. I communicated my displeasure many times, to the Business Manager and Sales Manager. They stated that there was nothing they could do to lower the price. This was due to the fact that Ford rebates are regional, and since the vehicle was to be registered in a different state, one of the rebates was $500 less than the Texas rebate. I was pretty much stuck into accepting the deal since one of the Ford rebates was expiring that same day, and I had to take delivery that day. Additionally, I traveled a very far distance to get there in time to purchase before rebate expiration at close of business that day. I’m not a happy customer about this, since the price increased by $500 once I got into the Business Manager’s Office to pay. After multiple requests to this dealer for a resolution, they have not made any effort to offer a resolution or even apologize. Just a warning, if you are purchasing a new Ford vehicle here, and are from a different state, make sure they enter all the information into the computer before you purchase. More
