Gives used-car salesmen a bad reputation The salesman we had was slick, evasive, and lied to our faces. It wasn't until we were completely done that we realized any of this, of course. The salesman we had was slick, evasive, and lied to our faces. It wasn't until we were completely done that we realized any of this, of course. The service department must be non-existent, because the car that was supposedly given a "thirty-point inspection" barely made it the forty-five miles home. It had metal showing through on three of the four tires, had a tremendous shudder at speeds of 55 to 60 mph (which we were prevented from discovering during the test-drive because the salesman, Jerry, wouldn't allow us to take the vehicle onto the freeway), had a cracked radiator, and had an oil leak caused by an improperly-installed oil filter. Within the first 24 hours, we had to replace all four tires and have the front-end aligned. We also had to pay for a replacement key fob in order to securely lock the vehicle. A short time later, the radiator blew and our trusted mechanic was able to determine that the crack had been there for quite some time. He also said the oil filter was not installed properly and was "spewing oil all over the engine." He assured us that these are issues that would have been noticed if the car had indeed been given any kind of inspection. If the dealership hadn't been more than 75 miles from our home (and this mechanic) we would have had him inspect it before we purchased it. All in all, we had to put more than $1,000 into repairs to fix everything that was wrong with the car. The finance staff was rude and condescending, and pulled every trick in the book to hide the real cost of what we were committing to until we had time to read the papers after we left the dealership. We were not given any opportunity to review the papers before signing. We made the mistake of telling them that we had to leave by a certain time (previous appointment in the area) so they deliberately drug out the process (waiting well over an hour just between the salesman saying the deal was accepted and the finance staff starting to print the paperwork) so that we wouldn't have time to properly review the contract. We arrived before 10:00 in the morning, but didn't leave until well after 3:30 pm, having had to reschedule our other appointment after all because of all the delays. We were told that some of the fees were required by the finance company; later when confirming with the finance company we found that this was patently false; as a result the finance company refused to fund the loan and rather than give us the opportunity to arrange private financing the dealership just wanted to back out of the deal and take the car back. This was, of course, after we had already paid for the repairs (and the dealership knew it). It was only due to the help of a different salesman, Lawrence, that we were able to protect our investment. He intervened on our behalf to allow us enough time to arrange financing through our local bank (at half the interest rate that the dealership offered) and he arranged to get the price lowered to what we thought we had agreed to pay (again, the lies about “fees” hid the real price on the contract). Thanks to Lawrence’s actions, we were finally able to get a fair price for the car and a much better financing arrangement. Lawrence is the only employee that we worked with at this dealership who treated us respectfully and honestly. He truly deserves to be working at any other dealership than this one. I can’t imagine another used-car dealership being worse than David Stanley Chevrolet in Norman. More

He even st Chris Widener was very helpful throughout our whole purchasing experience. He was knowledgable, and always found the right answer for us. He even stayed later than he should've to show me how to work the computer systems in the car and with syncing my phone, etc. NOT the pushy sales car type, and we loved that about him. More

horrible! This was the worst experience I have ever had in my life. I will NEVER buy a chevrolet from this dealership again. And I hope that none of my friends This was the worst experience I have ever had in my life. I will NEVER buy a chevrolet from this dealership again. And I hope that none of my friends or family ever go there to be one of their victims. I am deeply appalled that Chevrolet uses this dealership to sell new chevrolet vehicles to consumers. As a single mother of a special needs son since I was 18 and a federal employee facing furloughs, shutdowns, pay freezes, etc., I worked very hard to purchase my first new vehicle from Chevrolet. I am very disappointed and financially harmed by this whole experience. I wish I never bought this vehicle. This was supposed to be an exciting purchase but it was horrible. The price was ridiculous. Today is 42 days after the sale, expired temporary plates, no title, no estimate of the damage on my trade in as promised, and they still refuse to provide copies of all the paperwork I signed after I have made multiple requests which violates consumer rights and is deeply disturbing that something as simple as wanting copies of what I signed cannot or will not be provided. How does a dealership sell a new car and not ever provide copies of what was signed??? After my contacts with salesperson Raul Herrera, New Chevy sales Manager Aaron Tully, Finance Ryan Otis, customer relations manager lisa McKelvey, general manager Mike evans all failed to even attempt to resolve all of these issues as they stated they "don't know what to tell me, there is nothing they can do" and "it's not their fault" and "it's not their problem", I had no other option but to file a claim with Oklahoma Motor Vehicle Commission that was able to resolve some but not all issues. I am needing service on my vehicle after only a few hundred miles which I cannot do because I do not even have anything about servicing or what is covered or anything because i was never provided copies of what i signed. Also, the dealership caused me a financial loss as they deducted value on my trade in due to rear end damage from a recent accident that the responsible party is ready and willing to pay the damage to me out of pocket so i can recover that loss but when i took my trade in to the dealership the salesman told me "oh your vehicle isn't going anywhere, I will take it across the street where we get our body work done and get an estimate for you and you can pick it up when you come back to get your second key". i agreed to leave them the vehicle and signed the title to them as i trusted them to do what they promised. if they had not made this promise, i NEVER would have signed the title to them or left the vehicle. I would have gone to get it done somewhere else and returned my trade in and title when i had the estimate. Now the dealership tells me they never sent it like they promised and the have sold it so they have no way of knowing what the damage was. therefore, i have no way of knowing what amount to provide the responsible party and i cannot recover that loss. I don't know if the damage was $200 or $2000 that was the whole point in getting the estimate so the guy who hit me knows what to pay. And now all this dealership can say is "oh well, don't know what to tell you". This is absolutely ridiculous this thieving dealership just ripping off consumers like me who just wanted to buy a safe reliable new car without getting robbed and this is the nightmare I have had to deal with for over a month! I am desperately going to Chevrolet to find a resolution since this dealership obviously has no intention on resolving it and definitely do not care about the customer now that their check for $21,000 has cleared. I was treated very respectfully by both young men and I totally enjoyed my car buying experience. Ryan assisted me with the financial part. I was pre-approved by USAA and everything went smoothly and quickly. Lisa then spent at least 45 minutes showing me how to use all the high tech equipment. She is very knowledgeable about her job and very pleasant, kind and patient! I would highly recommend David Stanley Chevrolet at Norman to anyone looking to purchase a new Chevrolet!!!! More
