Sold me a “certified pre-owned” Santa Fe that was 6 months old and had only 3K miles. It had been a loaner vehicle from their service department and, when I got it home, I realized there was a bit of d months old and had only 3K miles. It had been a loaner vehicle from their service department and, when I got it home, I realized there was a bit of damage on the lower front bumper. It was subtle and I let it go. A bit later, I realized there were some venting motors behind that damage that had also been damaged. Rather than taking responsibility for not actually making sure this vehicle was in shape to sell as a “certified” vehicle, they wanted to charge me $2500 for a repair and refused to accept any responsibility. I do not recommend buying from them - you can not trust that they have inspected or repaired the vehicles they sell as pre-owned, and will not help you out when you find their mistake. Edit based on Hyundai’s response: does a damaged bumper qualify as a Certified Preowned Vehicle? The damage was fairly subtle and I would guess that it wasn’t overlooked on purpose, although I would expect you to look over vehicles with a fine-toothed comb. But now that it has been brought to your attention, do you have any intention to bring the vehicle up to your own stated standards? If not, my review and my warning to other potential buyers stands. I am grateful for getting my engine replaced from it being faulty. That being said they did a great job with handling everything as possible.
