Our experience with McGee Toyota and Tommy from start to finish was excellent, we told him what we wanted and received the car even earlier than expected, when we went to pick it up, he went throug start to finish was excellent, we told him what we wanted and received the car even earlier than expected, when we went to pick it up, he went through all the operations of the car, and was very helpful setting everything up, thanks again to McGhee Toyota of Putnam and especially Tommy for a great experience. I recently bought a 2021 GMC Acadia Denali Tommy was great. Excellent with the customers. The dealership on the other hand, the car that I purchased had an exhaust leak and you heard that when I test dr great. Excellent with the customers. I really liked this dealership. Initially, I visited another showroom—I figured that since it had been around longer, it would have more experience. However, compared to this place, that other dealership falls far short. Here, they offered me various options and gave me the opportunity to test-drive different models. The other showroom, on the other hand, seemed interested only in acquiring my old car and paid absolutely no attention to my preferences—unlike the team working here. A special thank you goes to Tommy, a very attentive and professional sales manager. He was very patient to explain me everything and keep helping because I still have questions sometimes. It’s great to have such a wonderful business in my neighborhood! More

A year ago I purchased a new car from McGee Toyota in Putnam and the experience was excellent. The process was simple — essentially “sign and drive.” The sales representative handled everything smoothly Putnam and the experience was excellent. The process was simple — essentially “sign and drive.” The sales representative handled everything smoothly without the typical back-and-forth with managers, and the entire transaction was quick and easy. Because of that positive experience, I assumed that reaching out a year later to purchase a used vehicle would be just as straightforward. Unfortunately, that’s where things went downhill. Without getting into every small detail, the dealership still seems very stuck in the old-school way of selling cars — limited transparency, reluctance to provide clear numbers, and an apparent strategy of trying to get the customer physically into the dealership to spend hours negotiating price, trade-in value, and other details. That approach may have worked years ago, but it’s not something I’m willing to go through today — especially when the dealership is about an hour drive for me. I was very upfront about this from the beginning. As a returning customer with a paid-off 2025 Toyota to trade in, all I asked was that the process remain simple and convenient — similar to my previous “sign and drive” purchase experience. Unfortunately, that request was essentially met with a “no.” The representative I was dealing with, Tom, even commented “hate to lose a customer.” What made the situation even more surprising is that the dealership already had my phone number and email on file, yet there was absolutely no follow-up from a sales manager afterward, which was disappointing. The entire process around buying a used car and discussing a trade-in felt unnecessarily complicated and time-consuming. For comparison, I reached out to Land Rover Norwood simply to see how another dealership handled the process. As soon as I provided them with the details of my 2025 trade-in, they clearly recognized I was a serious buyer. Within about 20 minutes I had every piece of information I needed — clear numbers, transparency, and a straightforward process. That’s exactly how a modern car buying experience should work. Ironically, the vehicle we test drove there was the exact same RAV4 that McGee had listed — same mileage and actually priced $1,000 less — and it was also located only about 20 minutes from my house. Despite that, I still tried to give McGee Toyota another opportunity at my business because I was a returning customer. Unfortunately, once again the response was simply “we will beat that.” Beat what exactly? By $1? All I was asking for was full transparency and clear numbers, and that seemed to be a struggle. In the end, I chose to move forward with Carvana. The process was incredibly simple, transparent, and hassle-free. My wife’s Honda Passport will be picked up on Wednesday. I would have genuinely preferred to give my repeat business to McGee Toyota, especially after my positive experience the first time. Unfortunately, this most recent experience made that impossible. I recently purchased a new car and had a fantastic experience. I got a great price, and the entire process was smooth from start to finish.
