Friendly, no pressure, no haggling, total transparency My wife and I bought a used vehicle at Forrester Lincoln today. We were helped from the get-go by the friendly Travis Mummert. We had already decided My wife and I bought a used vehicle at Forrester Lincoln today. We were helped from the get-go by the friendly Travis Mummert. We had already decided on the specific vehicle we wanted, and Travis had it ready for us to test drive within five minutes of our arrival at the dealership. He guided us from the rear seat in a test drive loop around Chambersburg that included city, rural, and interstate roadways. He was amiable and easy to talk to, answering our questions clearly though allowing us ample opportunity to listen to the vehicle's operation as we drove. We had already shopped around for financing and had come to the dealership prepared with a pre-issued check from our lender. Mr. Mummert asked what interest rate we'd gotten from our lender and was confident that he could do better. We decided to let him try. This was the longest part of the purchase process, but as we had given permission for Mr. Mummert to run our credit, this wasn't a surprise. He returned with a comparable offer to the one we'd gotten (from the same lender!) and he urged us to consider an official Ford extended warranty—though if we wanted the warranty we had to take the dealer's financing plan which would have lowered our monthly payment (but by extending the loan's term a whole year, likely increased the total amount we'd have paid in interest). Compared to other sales associates and dealership sales employees I've dealt with in buying cars, Mr. Mummert was one of the best. He did his best to make a case for the extended warranty and worked very hard to make it as attractive to us as possible, but did not judge us, scold us, or berate us in any way when we declined the couple of offers he made (again, at our request) to include official Ford extended warranty coverage to us (not some fly-by-night third-party extended warranty scam program). He kept a cheerful, attentive and respectful attitude toward us regardless of us opting out of the extended warranty. It's always a trade-off; if anyone could convince me that an extended warranty was worth the added cost (and interest), I think that it'd have been Mr. Mummert. He answered every question clearly and concisely, and neither my wife nor I ever felt any pressure to take his financing offer rather than the one we'd come with. The price we ended up paying was the price listed on the internet (i.e., what we'd expected) plus a negligible dealer documentation fee which is fewer than $10 from what I'm finding online to be listed as the Pennsylvania average. Dealers charge this fee to cover the cost of filing out contracts, state forms, bank forms, etc. as part of the sale. Pennsylvania doesn't limit these fees, as far as I know (call/write your state legislator), so it's nice that the dealership didn't use this opportunity to drop a major charge on this. Mr. Mummert informed me that this fee is applied to every car they sell to anyone and cannot be changed. Again, compared to other experiences I've endured, this seemed completely normal and in keeping with what I would likely pay at literally any other dealer in Pennsylvania. A few perks of shopping at Forrester Lincoln: they gave us both keys for the vehicle (used cars are often sold with only one key). And they offer a free (nice) loaner vehicle if ever we need to take advantage of their service department while our vehicle is in the shop. I've only owned the car for a few hours, but it made the two-hour drive home just fine. I would recommend Travis Mummert and Forrester Lincoln again in the future. Good work all around! More

FRIENDLYNESS AND SERVICE WE VISITED THE DEALERSHIP LAST WEEK... WE WERE GREETED BY TOBY FORRESTER AS SOON AS WE ENTERED THE SHOW ROOM... IMMEDIATELY TOBY ASKED US WHAT VEHICH WE VISITED THE DEALERSHIP LAST WEEK... WE WERE GREETED BY TOBY FORRESTER AS SOON AS WE ENTERED THE SHOW ROOM... IMMEDIATELY TOBY ASKED US WHAT VEHICHLE WE WERE INTERESTED IN AND BROUGHT THREE OVER FROM ACROSS THE STREET FOR MY WIFE TO TEST DRIVE.... WE STARTED WITH THE MKX AND HE WENT OVER ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES ON THIS MODEL AND THEN TRAVIS WAS FREED UP AND WAS ABLE TO TAKE OVER FOR TOBY ...THIS WAS GOING TO BE MY WIFE'S CAR, SO SHE DID THE TEST DRIVING AND IMMEDIATELY LOVED IT ... THE NEXT CAR SHE TEST DROVE WAS THE MKT, WHICH WAS A LTTLE LARGER, BUT SHE PREFERRED THE MKX... TOBY, ALSO HAD A LINCOLN NAVIGATOR FOR HER TO TEST DRIVE, BUT THAT WAS TOO BIG FOR HER. WE CAME BACK IN THE SHOW ROOM AND BOUGHT THE MKX! THAT WAS LAST THURSDAY AND WE PICKED UP THE CAR YESTERDAY!!! TRAVIS HAD IT CLEAR COATED AND SPENT A GOOD DEAL OF TIME EXPLAINING AND SIGNING PAPERS.. AFTER THAT HE WENT OVER ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES OF THE CAR... WHAT A FINE YOUNG MAN; VERY FRIENDLY AND ON THE BALL, JUST LIKE TOBY THE PRESIDENT ...MY WIFE AND I WERE IN BUSINESS ALMOST 45 YEARS, AND SERVICE AND FRIENDLYNESS IS THE KEY TO BEING SUCCEASSFUL... COMPETITION IS GOOD; YOU ALWAYS STRIVE TO GIVE BETTER SERVICE THAN YOUR COMPETITORS ...MY WIFE JUST TOOK OUR TWO GRANDCHILDREN UP TO A MOUNTAIN PROPERTY WE OWN AND SHE CALLED ME AND SAID SHE LOVED THE CAR AND THE WAY IT TOOK THE MOUNTAIN ROADS. HER OLD CAR WAS A 2005 CADILLAC SRX AND SHE SAYS THIS CAR HANDLES JUST LIKE HER CADDY....ANYHOW WE CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE GOOD SERVICE BOTH TOBY AND TRAVIS GAVE US AT THE DEALERSHIP!!!AS I MENTIONED BEFORE; TWO VERY FINE, HONEST GOOD MEN WITH WONDERFUL PERSONALIITIES ....
