They seemed to be understaffed and many people were not well-versed in the processes, and there was too much handing off from one person to another. Each employee was very kind and welcoming, but the level well-versed in the processes, and there was too much handing off from one person to another. Each employee was very kind and welcoming, but the level of knowledge and attention to detail is where they really struggled. What could have been a positive experience overall went south quickly due to lack of knowledge and experience example we were sent home after a very brief introduction to the technology on our vehicle with no license plate on the car it took over a week and a half for the dealership to make this right and required a return visit which was very inconvenient as we’re located in Racine. I had to teach the sales person how to install a license plate mounting bracket on the front of the vehicle and show them that the mounting bracket and fasteners were in the car with the rest of the dealer prep packages like the floor mats, etc. I went inside the dealership to see if someone could help him with some tools and when I came out, he had already screwed the license plate with no bracket directly into the bumper facia on the front of the car. I was in shock. The license plate was screwed into our 2025 CX 90 directly into the ABS bumper cap no bracket installed! He looked up and saw me holding the bracket he asked where did you get that and I said it came with the car it was in the back with all the other dealer prep items in the plastic bags. He then told me that he used the holes that were already there! I didn’t say you’re lying I simply said there were no holes in the bumper cover until now. He didn’t argue but attempted to install the mounting bracket at that point I had to instruct him how to mount it properly showing him the slight dimples in the bumper cover that are to be drilled to match the bracket. Also had to show him how to rotate the bracket in from the bottom so the lower bracket clips latch into the bumper cover for a flush correct fit. He didn’t argue and seemed to genuinely appreciate the instruction but I never thought such things would be part of the buying experience. I get the struggle with staffing, my team of mechanics is short 13 team members, but RD needs to do better to train the staff they have. More
