My wife purchased a 2024 Genesis from Barrington BMW on February 16, 2026. Two vehicles were traded in on the Genesis. Their business model excludes meeting with a Finance Manager. The sales transaction February 16, 2026. Two vehicles were traded in on the Genesis. Their business model excludes meeting with a Finance Manager. The sales transaction is handled by the salesperson. Our salesperson was busy trying to complete another sale along with trying to service us at the same time. Errors and omissions in the necessary paperwork occurred as a result of the lack of oversight. To correct these errors, additional time was spent by us requesting items such as service contract agreements. As the two vehicles to be traded had outstanding balances on their loans, payoffs to the respective lien holders were to be made by Barrington BMW. The payoff amounts were given to Barrington BMW by the specific lien holders as of the purchase date of February 16, 2026. Barrington BMW did not pay the outstanding loans for the two vehicles in a timely manner. Additional payments had to be made by us on these two loans so as to not affect our credit rating. Two phone calls were made to the salesperson asking for an update on this matter. They were not returned. Two additional phone calls were made to the Sales Manager and General Sales Manager respectively. The Sales Manager said he would look into the situation and call me back with a status update. He never did. I left a telephone message for the General Sales Manager asking him to look into the situation and to return my call. He did not return the call. After not receiving any return telephone calls from anyone from the dealership, I sent an e-mail to the Salesperson, Sales Manager and General Sales Manager using the address listed on the Barrington BMW website. Once again, I was not contacted by anyone. I am very disappointed in the lack of communication from this dealer. Their lack of the courtesy of returning telephone and e-mail messages is very disconcerting and frustrating. I would caution any potential customers to be aware of the lack of communication and common courtesy in returning requests for information. I would also caution to take special care in reviewing documents before leaving the dealership as getting the complete and necessary documents for a purchase may not be as forthcoming as they should. Finally, I would request a specific date as to when Barrington BMW would pay off outstanding loans on the trade so as to avoid any additional payments to be made and or result in a negative credit score rating. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. John H. More
